ilson Tennille, Jr. is the secondgeneration owner of The Plantation Shop, located in the Palmetto Walk Shopping Village. In its 42-years as a successful and iconic Amelia Island business, The Plantation Shop has evolved and grown into the foremost antique shop on the East Coast, specializing in English and French country antiques. “Whether you are looking for the classic English look or something in the French country feel, our selection of antiques is the best on the island, and it’s one of the premier antique shops in the South,” states Tennille. “It’s all about mixing the old with the new these days, and our staff can help you pick the perfect statement piece for your home!” The Plantation Shop also carries casual and coastal furnishings, home décor, gourmet foods and gifts, fashion accessories, and so much more. The Tennille family also owns the Palmetto Walk Shopping Village, which features an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops. staff. “When you walk into The Plantation Shop, you’ll see pieces like no other,” notes Tennille. “Every antique in our collection is hand-picked, and each has a story to tell. Roaming the English countryside, traveling to international fairs, and working with long-time antiques dealers is so exciting. We love the thrill of the hunt!” Once a store that catered to Amelia Islanders, The Plantation Shop now has customers from all over the country who shop through their social media platforms. With retail in his blood, Wilson Jr. is proud of the business his family built and continues to make The Plantation Shop a favorite Amelia Island shopping destination. “It has been an honor and a privilege to carry on where my mom left off,” says Wilson Jr. “Our customers and loyal staff are the reasons we have been in business for so many years!” The Plantation Shop is located at 2848 First Coast Highway in the Palmetto Walk Shopping Village.
