Mike’s Shuttle Service

Mike Hargrove, owner of Mike’s Shuttle Service, is originally from Montgomery, Alabama, but he has lived in Nassau County for over thirty years. As a long-haul truck driver, Mike logged over three million safe driving miles. During the pandemic, Mike had a scare. “I got pretty sick with Covid-19 and decided to sell my truck in case things got worse. But then I got better, things opened up, and I went to work as an Uber driver for short while. At the beginning of 2022, I decided to start Mike’s Shuttle Service.”
You can trust Mike with all your transportation needs. He is an approved Jacksonville International Airport driver, which means he is licensed and insured, something not all professional drivers can say. Convenient to both Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, black car transportation to or from Jacksonville International Airport is timely, safe, and convenient with Mike at the wheel.
What does Mike like to do when he isn’t working? “Working is my hobby,” he laughs. “I ride my motorcycle and spend as much time as I can with my sweetheart, Sheila. We celebrated our fiftieth wedding anniversary this past June and we’re making up for 40 years of me being on the road.” He also has Bob, an elderly dachshund rescue that keeps him busy. Mike’s Shuttle Service is a member in good standing with the Nassau County Chamber of Commerce. Creative Edge Carpet Binding
“The best thing about my job is knowing the work I do makes a difference in the lives of my customers, in the community, and in our environment. From repurposing carpet remnants into useful throw rugs to repairing rugs that are damaged or fraying, I’m able to save large amounts of material from going to waste in the landfill and save homeowners time and money. The fun part is when I’m called on to make unique and custom rug creations. I’ve made octagons, dog bones, and once, I created a rug shaped like a guitar! The most satisfying part is putting the new or repaired rug in place and seeing the difference it makes in the room,” says Alexis.
When Alexis isn’t working, she loves spending time with her three-year-old daughter. She’s also a part-time student at FSCJ pursuing an A.S. in Architectural Design and Construction Technology. She is active in the Rotaract Club, GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Fernandina, and she was recently elected to the board of directors at Keep Nassau Beautiful. Creative Edge Carpet Binding is located at 942111 Old Nassauville Road. For more information, call (904) 553-7523 or visit creativeedgecarpet.com.
