Raise your hand if you love being pampered, the feel of fresh skin, and learning new tricks to make you look and feel younger! Recently, I had the chance to spend some time with Laurie Moore of L. Moore Aesthetics, a boutique skincare spa and local favorite, for a relaxing and luxurious spa treatment. “Whether you are looking for a relaxing treatment, some brow beautification, or a clinical skincare plan to help address concerns, our staff is here to help,” says Laurie.
Laurie invited me to join her for a facial treatment, and I don’t know whether I was more excited to meet Laurie, to check out her new digs at The Loft at 1815, or for the treatment itself! From the moment I walked into the door, all my expectations were exceeded: the team welcomed me, offered a beverage, and invited me to complete a short form with history of my skincare and goals. As I sat down to the task, I took notice of the attention to care and detail—from orchids abundant and peaceful music to a cozy chair—I sat back and smiled knowing it was going to be the best hour of the week.
Next, Laurie greeted me with a warm smile and showed me to the treatment room. Laurie started her career in marketing and sales with skincare companies, and as she learned more about the benefits, she wanted to get hands-on and help others meet their goals. She became a licensed aesthetician over 15 years ago and worked at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island for five years when she moved to Amelia Island. In 2017, it was time to branch out, and L. Moore Aesthetics was born.
As Laurie got to work, she massaged a cleanser onto my face and neck. It was all I could do to stay awake as warm steam misted above me as she moved onto the exfoliation process. Laurie talked to me about the products I use regularly, the condition of my skin, coached me on things to keep doing and new ideas to consider. “We take a personalized approach for all clients because we believe skincare should work for you and your lifestyle. Navigating all the options, new products, and trends can be overwhelming, and that’s where I love to help!”
We had a great laugh about all the different products I have tried through the years, and Laurie gets it. That’s why she’s in the industry. “Products are important! We carry a variety that I have personally researched extensively following the science for high quality, effective combinations that will give you the best results. Environ is our main line; formulated by Dr. Des Fernandes in South Africa. It’s a medical-grade, Vitamin A-based line.”
As my treatment wrapped up, no words could describe how amazing my face was feeling. My treatment included an SPF treatment, so I was ready to take on the rest of the day. As Laurie grabbed a few product samples for me to try at home—a perk for all clients—I wondered what brand of SPF she was using that was so light and smooth. I later discovered that it was her own—“A More Beautiful You Tinted Mineral SPF 40” formulated by none other than L. Moore!
