Compass Group Insurance
The owners, Ness and Kristi Sala, founded the company in 2008. What does agent Dunnon McLucas, a third-generation Fernandina Beach native, like most about working for Compass Group Insurance? “The best part of what we do is that we get to educate Medicare beneficiaries and simplify an extremely complex program,” he says. “Occasionally, we are able to save people life-changing amounts of money because they just don’t know what is available to them.” For more information, call 844-PLANS4-U or visit www.compassgroupinsurance.com.

riginally from Lansing, Michigan, Steve Adams now calls Amelia Island home. In August 2021, he became the new owner of Nassau Health Foods after he and his wife, Heidi, sold their retail pet business. What’s the most rewarding thing about owning Nassau Health Foods? “Helping our customers live a healthy life,” says Steve. “It’s not easy to eat clean and be proactive on your health, but our employees are great. We have an amazing team. All of them love helping customers live a healthy life. I also love seeing customers enjoy friendships in our café.” The Mustard Seed Café, located inside the store, is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, or grab-and-go meals. All the delicious items on the menu are made with organic produce, organic chicken, wild caught fish, and free-range turkey, and plenty of vegan and gluten-free options are always available. Of course, you can also find everything you need at Nassau Health Foods to make healthy meals at home. Like so many people on Amelia Island, Steve and Heidi Adams are dog lovers. “Having a pet was required given that our last business was a chain of pet stores! We have a nine-yearold Labradoodle named Bella.” When Steve isn’t working, he enjoys reading, traveling, exercising, and sharing a meal with friends. Heidi brings a “healthy” balance to the relationship. “My wife owns a cookie business,” Steve says with a laugh. For more information, visit Nassau Health Foods at 833 T.J. Courson Road, online at www.nassauhealthfoods.net or call (904) 277-3158.
