Americade 37 is going to demonstrate what a recent UCLA study scientifically proved - that motorcycling is good for your health. Really. The UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience conducted a study in February on experienced motorcyclists, proving that when you throw a leg over your bike, your stress levels reduce, your heart rate increases, and that you look 10 years younger. (Okay, I made the last one up) But, you already know that there is something uniquely stimulating and yet calming about riding a motorcycle. This is why you ride, and why we have spent the past year working on Americade 37. Americade 37 will feature once again many new events and attractions, yet we always remain focused on the RIDING portion of the event. Our incredible volunteers and my hard working staff strive somehow to improve our rides annually, and this year they did it again. If you haven’t signed up for a guided or unguided ride, I encourage you to join one - you’ll love it. There are many other “don’t miss” events this year. Here are 3: 1. Saturday’s Americade Ride For Kids Ride & Parade. This FUN and free ride starts in Glens Falls and ends in Lake George, behind a police escort with music and fans waving from the streets. Tip: Sign up online for their $50 package and you’ll get breakfast, an amazing lunch (catered by Outback Steakhouse) AND someone in THIS ride will win a new Honda motorcycle! (Your odds of winning a new bike will never be better.) 2. On Friday and Saturday, the Americade Block Party takes place, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House, and two NFL Hall of Famers will be onsite signing autographs on Saturday afternoon. Head on down to get a signature and selfie! 3. All New Knights of the Round Table: At Americade we gather an amazing array of famed motorcyclists and industry powerhouses, and on Thursday night we’ll put 5 of some of the most entertaining, insightful and funny ones on stage, giving them a mic, and letting them tell some of the most outrageous stories they have. It was popular last year, so arrive early. Enjoy your Week, and Ride Safely!

MAKING A MOTORCYCLIST
HERE is the PERFECT opportunity to introduce riding to your non-motorcycling spouse, family or friend! 1. We'll have a safe course, with professional instructors, and very easy-to-ride Yamaha E-Bikes (no shifting needed!). Have your non-rider stick their toe into riding, and they may be on their way to becoming a motorcyclist. Yamaha invented the E-Bike, and they’re a hoot to ride, for motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists. Come try one out! 2. We'll also have a stationary Yamaha motorcycle, where a non-rider can enjoy the feeling of shifting the gears on a "real" motorcycle, while the motorcycle is mounted to a stationary trailer. 3. And, several motorcycle factories will be onsite with motorcycles equipped with new-rider friendly technology, so this is the PERFECT chance to make a motorcyclist out of your non-riding friends. Bring a helmet, jacket, gloves and boots, and your instructors will take care of the rest. Any age is welcome, so long as the rider is at least approximately 5' tall (big enough to straddle an average bicycle frame). Thurs & Fri 1pm-5pm | Sat 1-3pm | FWH Demo Area E-BIKE GYMKHANA: On Wednesday afternoon, we’ll set up a special course for you to test your skills. It will be a tight cone course, operated under the supervision of instructors from Total Control. You’ll have an opportunity to ride this course, receive some instruction from the pro instructors, and test a technology that will be new to you. This will be a hoot for you (and any friends watching you), so set some time aside to attempt the E-Bike Gymkhana. Weds | 1-4pm | FWH Demo Area
A hidden gem of Americade: Coffee Club with Fred Rau! Relax with coffee, swap stories, make new friends, and share some laughs! Fred Rau is the former Editor of Road Rider, Wing World, and Motorcycle Consumer News magazines. As well as the Author of the best selling Motorcycle Touring Bible. Fred is Americade's all-time most popular speaker and winner of the AMA "Most Valued Person in Motorcycling" Awards. Fred will have his book for sale and he'll be glad to sign it for you. Fred's Coffee Club Weds | 7-8am | FWH Conf. Center
Don't miss the annual meeting of the Ladies Coffee & Motorcycle Club (the "LCMC"). Join us for the Ladies Coffee Club moderated by well-known journalist, motorcyclist and world-traveler Diane Ortiz. This group of fellow women riders talk about things only women riders can identify with. Jenny Smith is a 20-year motorcyclist and the Managing Editor of Rider Magazine, with multi-day road trips under her belt all over the U.S. and Europe. Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear her stories of her motorcyle adventures! Tue | 6-7pm | FWH Conf. Center Countersteering, Geometry and the 3 Handling Conundrum Lee Parks President of Total Control Training, Inc. Everyone knows that motorcycles turn by leaning. How and why they do that, and what affects a bike’s ability to turn will be discussed in easy to understand terms. If you’ve ever wondered why bikes sometimes go wider and sometimes go tighter when you apply the brakes, throttle and steering, Lee Parks will break down the often counter-intuitive reasons for each in one of his always compelling presentations. Lee Parks is the President of Total Control Training, Inc. He has been racing motorcycles for over 35 years and won a 2001 WERA National Endurance Series Championship. He spent five years as the editor and chief test rider of Motorcycle Consumer News where he road tested every new street motorcycle available in the U.S. and became one of the top performance-testing journalists in the world. His best-selling book Total Control is considered the bible of high-performance riding technique and sells around the world in five languages. Wed |7-8pm | FWH Conf. Center
