QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER FEED • WATER • CARE Every American Stalls (AS) project starts with the horses.
NOTES
Although we guarantee a beautiful finished product, we first start with the horses' care. This is to ensure every AS barn is centered around the horses' safety, wellbeing, and longevity. FEED – How do you like to feed your horses? Do you prefer to feed from the aisle through a feed opening or grilled feed door – or do you prefer to go inside the stall and use feeding time as an additional touch-point with the horse? Do you prefer to separate feed and water inside the stall (opposite corners or front to back of stall)? Hay – Do you throw hay from the aisle or do you like to place hay in a specific hay feeder or certain stall corner? WATER – What are your preferences? Do you have horses that drink large quantities at one time? Are they used to automatic waterers or do you prefer buckets? In your location's climate, are frozen water buckets a concern? Do you rather use water buckets to manually keep track of your horses' consumption? Will you have access to water lines in the aisle? Would you need integrated water spickets built into your stall front? HORSES & BEHAVIOR Will you have horses with stronger personalities (i.e. stallions, less social mares, etc)? Will you have new horses coming and going with unknown personalities? Will you use any stall systems to breed and house foals? What is the average size of your horses?

QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER Personal Preferences Once we understand the horses, our next step
NOTES
is to work with our clients. This means conversations with the facility owner, trainer, staff, and riders. We want to understand your personal preferences in feeding, cleaning, and general day-to-day barn routines. This way, we are able to build stabling products that blend effortlessly into your lifestyle. STALL CLEANING – How do you and your team clean stall systems? Do you use wheelbarrows, buckets, and/or spreaders? What is your barn's intended cleaning routine? STALL CLEANLINESS & MAINTENANCE How important is overall cleanliness of the stall (i.e. round bars, mesh, door frames, etc)? Will you maintain lumber stains, lumber paint, and powder coat finishes? FLOORING CLEANLINESS – How clean do you prefer your stall interiors and aisles? How important is a pristine aisle? How important is an efficient stall flooring to allow for quicker cleaning? Are there products that you are used to and prefer for the aisle and stall?

NOTES
elegant design. This simplicity is combined with thoughtful engineering and manufacturing. We achieve this by first understanding the horses and humans behind each product. We are then able to incorporate the horse and human into the client's design goals. We work together with our client, architect, and builder to achieve a product that is safe, elegant, and functional. BARN STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS What is your aisle's width? Will there be tack trunks or other infrastructure in the aisle? What is the safety plan for the barn in the event of a fire? What is the flooring base of the barn? Will there be rubber pavers or a similar alternative installed into the aisle?
