ANTILIA- Vertiscape Residential Tower Mumbai, India
KEY CONCEPTS: • Vertical public park spaces and private residence. • Multi-story structure built for Ambani family as a series of gardens with residence on the top level. • Seperate levels are proposed as support tiers for earth, water, air, sound and fire leading upwards towards enlightenment. • The main elevation component is the zig-zag elevational framework which runs along every level and brings elegance to the structure.
2
SELECTED DESIGN ELEMENT: • • • •
Creating Various levels representing different spaces at every height The main core connecting every level. Facade treatment at the base. Zig zag elevational envelope along every height.
How is the Key Concept Reflected in the Form of the Selected Design Element? • Various levels of different shapes will create the form of the structure. • The base with facade treatment will give an impression that its functionality. • The zig zig elevational framework which runs along every level will bring elegance to the structure and help in wraping up every level in the structure.
GEOMETRIC DESCRIPTION • Combination of rigid curve which forms the envelope for the structure that creates interplay of different levels and the straight core.
SCALE/ MATERIAL/ TECHNIQUES • Scale 1:100 • Materials: Box board, MDF • Techniques: Laser Cutting

FINAL OUTPUT
The conceptual model exhibits multi-storied structure at various levels representing as support tiers for earth, water, air, sound and fire leading upwards towards enlightenment. The size of the level decreases showing that the structure becomes private as we move upwards. The zig- zag allignment of the structure brings elegance to its elevation. 7
MÉCA- Maison de l’Économie Créative et de la Culture en Aquitaine Bordeaux, France
KEY CONCEPTS: • This project consist of a form composed of three cultural institutions into one building: FRAC (the Aquitaine Regional Fund for Contemporary Art), ECLA (the Cultural Agency for Writing, Music, Film & Broadcasting), and OARA (the Artistic Office of the Aquitaine Region for performing arts). • They form a single institute together: the Maison de l’Économie Créative et de la Culture en Aquitaine - the MÉCA. The structure is proposed in order to integrate the waterfront promenade of Bordeaux to achieve public circulation to flow through the MÉCA. • The three institutions and their shared facilities are assembled about a public space enclosing a fifth program – and outdoor urban space becomes a frontage towards both Bordeaux and the Garonne – as well as the OARA, ECLA and FRAC – left, right, above and below respectively. The urban space forms a base for everyday life of Bordeaux flowing through the spacious space along the boulevard or to and from the river. The urban space turns into an urban stage on special occasions, or an outdoor exhibition gallery to spread the art into the city, as well as promoting architecture. The urban space forms a frame for the artwork, a stage for the performances, a screening room for the media collections and perhaps most significantly an open room for the urban life of Bordeaux to flow through and get involved with the arts.
8
SELECTED DESIGN ELEMENT: • The form of the building. • The spaces subtracted from the form in order to achieve the shape and circulation.
How is the Key Concept Reflected in the Form of the Selected Design Element? • • • •
The unique shape helps to achieve connectivity of three cultural intitutions into one building. The circulation is created by subtracting a mass out of a cube or cuboid. A dynamic form is achieved out of the circulation pattern. The building emerges from the ground with a unique geometric pattern.
GEOMETRIC DESCRIPTION • The building emerges from the ground in the form of layers with a unique geometric pattern forming a dynamic shape.
SCALE/ MATERIAL/ TECHNIQUES • Materials: box board, primer and Spray paint • tecniques: laser cutting and 3d printing

Brambuk Cultural Centre Victoria, Australia
KEY CONCEPTS: • The Brambuk National Park and Cultural Centre is the place to understand Australia’s Aboriginal culture through flora and fauna. It is a good example to study the beautiful and sustainable native timber portal frame construction. The curved and twisting building depicts a riverlet where aboriginal people use to catch eels in nets. The non-uniform structure was formed due to the portal frame construction that takes people through the information centre in a similar meandering way. The portal frames, with tapered columns, were erected from 100% plantation grown radiata pine LVL. The cultural center has enhanced form and function through large spans and natural timber tones.
20
SELECTED DESIGN ELEMENT: • The circular form of the building. • the timber framing for the circular path which helps in creating a strong support
How is the Key Concept Reflected in the Form of the Selected Design Element? • The design of the centre has drawn on the traditional aboriginal shelter being the stone circles of the western district. • This helps in creating a timber frame construction in a circular form and helps to achieve a different approach in timber construction.
GEOMETRIC DESCRIPTION • Conceptual Timber portal frame in a circular or arc shape that could be suitable for conceptual design.
