POWER CORE II: ENHANCED PERFORMANCE AND EXTRA STRENGTH The Powercore II is a tip-to-tail poplar wood core with additional beech wood stringers for unrivalled strength, smooth response and insane snap.

KOROYD™ CORE The latest in core technology, utilizing co-extruded miniature tubes, vertically aligned and welded, with unique energy absorption properties, KoroydTM is approximately 70% lighter than standard balsa wood, with no loss in strength or flex. This engineered core is utilized in the tip and tail of the new HIGHLANDER model for reduced swing mass and overall weight.

Overlaying a tighter sidecut radius in the center of the board with a larger one towards tip and tail is creating our exclusive POWERPODS which have two amazing effects: On one hand, there is extended board width under the bindings, resulting in additional edge control, especially on hard and icy surfaces as well as simply less toe and heel drag for larger boots and flatter stance angles. Kevlar© is used in bulletproof vests and body armor to protect your core. We use it in strategic places around the binding-to-board interface to protect the construction from impacts during hard landings.

Sidecuts

In todays world there are so many different names, classifications, and marketing schemes out there that are used to hype up the camber design, most of them don´t even function in a way that will help people become better snowboarders. We have decided to cut the crap and keep snowboarding simple by simplifying our camber names and technologies to only those that work, and that are approved by our regional and global team riders, and friends. That is why we have chosen to offer the four camber profiles that really work, and we are not overcomplicating things by micro-slicing and renaming them – Even though all of our camber profiles are adjusted to match the type of person or terrain the boards are designed for, but TRÜE camber is camber, Gullwing is gullwing, Flat-Out is Flat-Out, and Cam-Out is Cam-Out. Real camber technology that works, and does not need a marketing scheme to prove it.

RADIAL SIDECUT The simplest and most common of all sidecuts: One single radius makes this sidecut extremely versatile and predictable.

DUAL / TRI PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT: Tighter radius towards tip and tail improve control, acceleration and grip. Combined with a mellower tip and tail flex, these sidecuts give Eero Ettala and Sven Thorgren just the right amount of control they‘re looking for.

DUAL DEGRESSIVE SIDECUT: This sidecut blends a smaller radius in the center with two larger ones in the tip and tail, making it loose and playful. The most forgiving of our sidecuts.

PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT A larger radius in the front, blended into a tighter one towards the tail: The progressive sidecut makes accelerating out of turns a breeze, while maintaining a catch-free nose area.

Trüe Camber: TRÜE Camber is good old standard camber, which provides the stability, and pop many shreds can´t live without. The amount of snap and support you get from a cambered board is unrivalled by any other camber design. Our TRÜE Camber varies between board models because each board is specifically designed for a certain terrain or type of riding, for example the TRÜE Camber in our Pantera SC has a larger height for maximum response, while the TRÜE Camber in our freestyle boards are lower to provide you with a more freestyle friendly flex, without loosing the support and trust you need for stomping landings. OLD! ASYMMETRICAL TWIN SHAPE A Nitro original invention: already 25 years ago, we figured out that the body‘s ability to lean into a turn is different between toe- and heelside. So we designed the Asymmetrical Twin, a board that has a deeper heelside sidecut to compensate for the human body‘s inability to bend the knees in both ways :-). The Diablo model is a modern interpretation in shape, construction and flex of the two asymmetrical twin boards offered back in the day.

Julia Flemmer My name is July and I work as an artist in Munich. Graphic design, character and concept art are parts of my terms of reference. I love traveling, snowboarding, the sea and drawing. I try to combine my passions and express my impressions in my designs and illustrations.

R. Nelson Parrish R. Nelson Parrish received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nevada-Reno; and a Masters of Fine Art from the University of California-Santa Barbara. R. Nelson Parrish investigates color and motion. As a color theorist, he creates contemporary totems of layered bio-resin that pulls from the history Minimalism and the Light and Space movements, while pushing into new dialogs about storytelling, objectivity and space.

Sharmila Banerjee Sharmila Banerjee is an illustrator, designer and comic artist from Germany. After graduating with an MFA in illustration and graphic design from Konstfack/Stockholm, she focuses on visual storytelling. She designs textile patterns, all sorts of printed matter and her playful and colorful drawings are regularly published in international anthologies and magazines. You‘ll also find her work exhibited in galleries across Europe and the USA.

Lorenz Holder I grew up in Munich, close to the Bavarian mountains. Those mountains that have always played a major role in my life. I was a semi-professional snowboarder back in the day, until I injured myself badly and I pretty much had to quit snowboarding for a whole season in 2003. In that time I discovered the pleasure of photography for myself.

Corinne Lan Franco Born & raised in Julian, Ca. I currently reside in Foothill Ranch, Ca but am pretty sure I belong on Mars. I‘m a freelance artist with a nasty motorcycle riding habit.

Steven Stone I‘m an editorial and lifestyle photographer who occasionally dabbles in fashion. I love cats and whiskey. I hate New York City. I need to constantly be working on something and have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew. I spend the bulk of my money trying to make my motorcycle faster than it is right now. I just took up cooking and it‘s my current obsession. My puppy, Jackson Alabama, is perfect.

Andrew Carney Grew up a block away from Milosport in Salt Lake City and spent most of my time there, skating and snowboarding. The only other thing that I‘ve ever really been interested in is art. I went to school in San Francisco and that‘s where I learned about releif lithography and monotype printing. Now I‘m back in Salt Lake, painting, printing and getting ready for the season.

János Hartmann I started to draw at kindergarden. I didnt grow up ever since. Started with skateboarding and snowboarding in the 90s and I paddled out to catch my first wave 6 years ago. Im super stoked to designing snowboard graphics for Nitro .

I grew up in Munich, close to the Bavarian mountains. Those mountains have always played a major role in my life. I was a semi-professional snowboarder back in the day, until I injured myself badly and I pretty much had to quit snowboarding for a whole season in 2003. In that time I discovered the pleasure of photography for myself.

I was fascinated by photos that could describe a whole scene, a whole story or even a whole day, in just one small moment caught on film. In my photos I like to show the viewers a different angle, something they normally wouldn’t notice, even if they were there at the scene. I might use colorful flashes, different camera angles or tilt and shift lenses – always trying to capture something a bit different. On the other hand, I also love the documentary style; simple black and white documentary is something very real.

OrthoLite Lazy Recovery Foam conforms to the foot creating a comfortable, custom fit. When you remove your foot from the boot, the Lazy foam instantly rebounds to its original shape.

NEW ORTHOLITE FOOTBEDS Together with OrthoLite, the World’s Leading Supplier of Open-Cell Foam Insole Technology, we have developed new footbeds in dual and triple density versions for different levels of support and comfort: OrthoLite compresses less than 5% with excellent levels of shock absorption and energy return. Fit and comfort inside the boot will remain consistent for the life of the OrthoLite product. The unique open cell structure of OrthoLite also creates a moisture management system inside the boot by moving moisture away from the foot leaving foot drier. When the f oot is removed from the shoe any remaining moisture dries very quickly due to the airflow allowed by the open cell network in the foam. OrthoLite contains a patented anti-microbial formulation to fight fungus, bacteria, and odor. The biocide is added during formulation so that it is linked to the foam and will not wear off or lose effectiveness over time. The Aegis anti-microbial treatment is EPA and FDA approved. OrthoLite is extremely lightweight providing optimum performance and without adding excess weight to the boot. OrthoLite is completely washable and will not hydrolysize. Just throw them in your washing machine and they come out like new.

“Every year the outerwear design team takes a hard look at why we need to produce Nitro Outerwear. We listen to our sales team, our riders, shop owners, industry leaders to what they need, want and like. We take into consideration that this line will be designed two years ahead of time and try our best to predict the future. This 16/17 line is a years worth of work from everybody who has ever been a customer, buyer, employee, or fan of Nitro snowboards. We designed this line for our true Nitro family and with that we needed to encompass two very important things: 1. Nitro is built for good times 2. Technically superior product built specifically for snowboarders. These two factors reflect what Nitro outerwear is all about and we built this with two groupings. Pioneers and the Goodtimes line.
