Urban-architectural design: Inhabiting the envelope
8 |
CONTEXT
AND
CONCEPT
It is an urban-architectural design on the scale of a block at the lake 3 of Tunis according to a concept; based on the configuration of the open Block, I chose to work on the envelope as a spatial concept. From a spatial envelope to a corporal envelope, the final project exhibits the contemporary creations of the second skin. The project has given a new vision of the urbatectural space at the scale of an urban block, It revives and brings a touch of art to one of the sectors of the Lake 3 adjoining the non-animated MohamedV street, Tunis, Tunisia.

The project is devoted to clothes, highlighting our traditional Tunisian clothing, handicrafts, tapestry, jewelry, ... and showcasing reinterpreted clothing and recent creations. Thus, an envelope is exposing another; the architectural envelope exposes the corporal one. The project includes a creation hub for the conception and the design of the clothes, a fabrication area for the confection, differents workshops. A third part for the artistic exhibition and a fourth for the fashion show. Eventually, a social envelope is conceived as a gathering platform.

AMBIENCES
Spatialities and concepts are sought to be architecturally interpreted in our envelope block offering thus varied experiences within and outside the space, foster connection between the buildings and defining edges without constraining the view or the connection to the landscape. The block Buildings are not designed independently, but more like opened up to make an interactive relation with the surroundings, in order to enrich the whole environment which makes us perceive the architecture and the landscape as a totality.

This project is a design of a photography museum, at the Lake 2, Tunis, Tunisia, in Coop himmelblau’s manner, after having analysed their architectural project BMW Welt. The project is a travel inside a camera, where the visitor experiences different compartments of the machine, lives it, and learns about its mysteries. From the «Camera Obscura», a black box, the visitor investigates the history of drawing the light. Through a roll of a film, he takes a tour of the museum to discover several artistic expositions and experience the process of taking a photo, added to light performances and an observatory.

WORK)
To those strong, beautiful, independent women, this project is dedicated, in order to defend gender equality and emancipation of women, according to the fundamental laws of human rights. The main concept is «seduction»; we opted for a simple and refined structure, covered with light white fabric, little apertures in the volumes, an alternance between the light and shadow, full and empty and opacity and transparency. We opted for four volumes that converge to a central yard surrounded by galleries to accentuate the idea of exchange an dialogue; with visual connection.
