1.6 Personal Practice

Throughout my professional journey I have dedicated a portion of my career to the three-dimensional representation of architecture and interior design. The power of communicating through still images and projecting spaces that does not yet exists, is fundamental to create and inspire architects and clients in every project.

My vision is provide a tool to see the “unbuilt” side of a project, collaborate and embrace a design not only for its tangible architecture, but the untangible side of an experience.

Offering high quality 3D imagery of architectural and interior designs, in a true, honest and realistic way, is my key aim to set the first steps of the vision of a design. Therefore, this annex is dedicated to the projects I have had the honor of representing in 3D imagery, along with visionary architects and creative minds.

“Remnant” is an architectural studio project that aims to give credence to the Meridiana building, situated inside the grounds of Villa Arconati alongside Castellazzo di Bollate, fronting the Borgo quarters on one side and the Cider court on the other. These set of building have hosted differents typologies of functions and are entirely representative of their own single architecture style. The fundamental point of this project is a creation of a bold contrast between the old and the new.

The project is based on a process of, due subtraction, exposure and addition, guided us in the creation of an intervention strategy that could be as versatile as it is respectful to the existing site and surroundings. The functional activation process of the Meridiana was developed in conjunction with an aesthetic characterization linked to the re-development and re-use of the current structure both from a functional and aesthetic point of view.

A project created purely for the reactivation of the world renowned Monza Autodromo, focusing on the idea of sustainability and the concept of temporary solutions. Through the creation of an effective system, we have involved existing aspects of the site with the introduction of new features. Whilst understanding the available space, we have considered existing characters of the site, such as paths, buildings and visitor daily-based activities. The intervention is completely user centered, concenctrating on how it navigates throughout the site, understanding the benefits of a nature surrounded environment. The lack of wayfinding that currently Parco di Monza has, was the main motor to ensure every user inside the park may roam around it without questioning their next step or sense of direction.

The main focus of the project was drawn to the training and entertainment aspects that concerns the people in Monza, engrossing and enriching those desires to take part into physical activity, the division of sports courts and exercise circuits embedded within the paths of the park, allowing nature to compliment and flourish amongst it. Needing to enhance both the day and nightscape of the park, a focus was considerately placed on the Old Granstand inside the Autodromo area, representing the largest landmark of the park. Distinguishable and easily identifiable to the public, it is used as an iconic, interactive feature with a second skin of the façade that will also double as a projector screen to ignite the nightscape. In response to the challenge of designing spaces relative to the user scale, within such large site, the derivation of an imaginary grid creating a subdivision of different scales os activities and proportion the space within the smaller area for a single user. This has lead to a rational and more accessible use of the site for the various activities the park willl host in the upcoming future.

A project based on the perception of taste and looking for an improvement of it through the development of the perfect texture for big food companies. The research takes place inside a specific laboratory supported by a kitchen. Selected visitors are here involved in a direct and symbiotic way: they will play a role of being feedback providers, after a formative 5 sense experience. A change will happen in their way of perceiving food, making them more accurate “tasters” and the products developed here will have a new and better taste and textures.

The strategy is to wake senses through a journey experimentation and feedback. Starting up with a tactic adittion of synchronized creating an experimentation of a specific product studied food professionals at the installation.
