M.BEM The Department of Building Engineering and Management was founded in August 1979. SPA was the first school to offer a dedicated core course in Construction and Project Management in India. The course is devised to imbibe the students with the core concepts of Project management, Real Estate Management and Finance Management, along with the ancillary components of Human Resource Management, Quality Management, Contract Management and Building Structures and Services.

IDEOLOGY APPROACH
The course of MBEM was conceived with a vision of galvanizing the ever-squabbling siblings, Architecture and Construction Management. The curriculum encompasses a diverse array of subjects from the fields of architecture, civil engineering, project management and human resource management. The syllabus is always kept synchronized with the emerging trends of the industry. Guidance from some of the best professionals and academicians hones the students into motivated and well-groomed individuals, at the threshold of their careers as project managers.

RESEARCH ORIENTED STUDY MBEM lays emphasis on research projects, in the form of two seminars and one final semester-thesis. It encourages the students to conduct comprehensive studies related to the subject and it environs through extensive literature and market reference, thus widening their scope of knowledge and exposure. The completed works, which is a treasure trove in the MBEM classroom-library, are the students’ contribution to their subject and industry.
INDUSTRY ORIENTED PEDAGOGY With the aim of adhering to the lofty standards of the industry, MBEM has incorporated guest lectures, special lectures, workshops and site visits. Department of BEM offers a plethora of choices to its students in the field of Building technology and management.
