A man from Alfaz del Pi on the Spanish Costa Blanca , has had something of a surprise . His bank La Caixa , has charged him 181 euros for using their internet banking service .They say that the charge is for “intensive use ” of the service . It appears that if a customer uses the service 100 times in a month then they will be charged .This charge is 100 euros for the service and then a further 50 euros for every 100 connections . This information is published on the bank´s website but it is not easy to find and even when found it is not easy to understand . When the man from Alfaz del Pi took out the contract he says that this was never explained to him and he says that there is no mention of it on his contract either . He was not warned by the bank by telephone or in writing . His argument is that it doesn´t matter how many times he checks his account , it costs the bank nothing , so why are they charging him .He has now made a formal complaint to the ombudsman and a consumer association .He has not ruled out taking legal action against the bank .
