The Spanish National Police have arrested 8 people in Benidorm and one in Orihuela on the Costa Blanca plus over 50 more people across Spain , in connection with the issuing of false work contracts .These false papers would enable people to draw unemployment benefit , obtain residency or proper work permits . The gang would charge individuals up to 300 euros for one of these false contracts and it is estimated that they have defrauded people out of almost half a million euros . The gang operated out of Cuenca , Alicante and Albacete . Members of the gang would just approach people in bars and offer them a contract for a fee . The leader of the gang is a businessman in Albacete and he has been arrested before on similar charges . The investigation is still proceeding and more arrests are possible .
