Typical Restaurant D. Roberto
Located in the Village of Gimonde, one of the many entrance ways to the Natural Park of Montesinho, the A. Montesinho Group is part of the Transmontana Terra Fria Region - one of the most privileged regions of Portugal, in what concerns Protected areas – where the nature and the gastronomy are outstanding. The Group activity took its first steps with the Roberto’s Pub, with a gastronomic offer of quality and regional products which goes back to 1935 made by the hand of “D. Beatriz” and “Tio Roberto”. The Quinta das Covas, a current reference unit in the Region is the second valence of the Group, which combines Agritourism with Events’ organization. From the many multi-purpose spaces, there stand out a banqueting hall with capacity to 700 people and another with capacity to 300 people. The Quinta das Covas has available many leisure areas, where it is possible to practice many outdoor activities such as: soccer, volleyball, Basketball, Pedestrian Trails, MTB, Off-road, Fishing, Canoeing, Equestrianism, Hunting training field and a Shooting field. This unit is complemented with its Regional wine cellar, Typical Restaurant, a Hunter’s Pub and also two Agritourism Houses – The Forno House and the Guieiro House. In every single area there has been a concern to create a connection between the history, tradition and modernity through unique details. In what concerns the lodging, the Group has 6 Houses with an overall of 22 bedrooms, each one equipped with Air Conditioning, Satelite TV, private bathroom and Internet. The goal of the A. Montesinho Group is to deliver quality, innovation, as well as service and products’ diversity, being the main purpose the clients’ satisfaction. Certified enterprise since 2005 by the ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems).

I Mestra house 4
Located in the Natural Park of Montesinho, in the village of Gimonde, this gracious rustic House was in other times the House where the teachers sent to this region lived. Today, the House is rebuilt and the ancient teachers no longer live there. Nevertheless, cautious with their duties, the teachers leave to all who passes by homework: To know and cherish the nature and the gastronomy of this one of a kind land.
Come learn this lesson and get to know the most beautiful things we have to offer.

I LĂşpulo house 6
Raised in an ancient property of Hop plantation, this House dedicates it its routes. The European hops is a vine traditionally used along with the malt, barley and yeast in manufacture of beer. From the heat of the boiling process, the Hop releases bitter resins which give beer its characteristic flavor.
Come relax in the nature and admire an extent Hopfield.

I Escola house 7
The Escola House was a single-family detached home located in front of the primary school of the village of Gimonde. Its ancient owners worked in agriculture and back then the House was very humble. This was also the family who supplied the embers for the heating of the Primary School’s little pupils, which was made traditionally through fire pans. Properly recovered the House kept its name and it is currently one of the coziest units of nature tourism of the region.

I Forno House 8
Located in the Quinta das Covas, an enterprise of the Group A. Montesinho, the Forno House is an Agritourism unit with high patterns of comfort and commodity. The House was named after the oven where traditionally the bread is baked or the Braganรงano Lamb PDO is roasted, as well as other traditional delicacy of the region. With a swimming pool, a game court and a playground this House is an excellent option to who wants to enjoy the pleasures of the countryside and the nature.
Dip in the swiming pool or feel the warmth of the fireplace. Relax to the sound of the nature.

I Guieiro House 9
The Guieiro is a Hill upon the Quinta das Covas, where next to the Forno House is the Guieiro House. In times, each work developed in the agriculture was followed by moments of joy. As Belarmino Afonso wrote, “Parties were threw everywhere, mainly at night and with young people.” The Roçada, the Cegada, the Magusto and the Carnival are some examples.
Relieve the stress, breathe pure air from the mountain and enjoy the local gastronomy.
I Typical Restaurant D. Roberto 10
Tourism
The typical Restaurant D. Roberto exists there are more than 70 years. Since its beginning, the smoked meats have always been a characteristic of the menus of the D. Roberto’s family. Located in a Transmontana typical house, all the decoration turns around the themes hunting, smoked meats and ancient artifacts from the region. With the evolution of times the Restaurant has been remodeled and adjusted, presenting today a configuration that allows it to be a reference in the region and one of the few typical certified restaurants. The Restaurant has four distinct spaces, two restaurant halls, the typical Pub, where many regional delicacies can be tasted, and the regional products store where it is possible to have tasting experiences and buy regional products.

I Quinta das Covas 14
Festive Cicle of Trás-os-Montes In Trás-os-Montes, the months of the year are followed by many festivities. The Quinta das Covas, to recover ancestral traditions, presents five thematic parties associated to the agricultural labor, which purpose is to promote traditions, landscapes and above all the rich Transmontana gastronomy. Butelo with dried beans – Carnival Bragançano Lamb – Easter Veal Steak – summer Harvest – autumn Pig slaughter – winter
“ A festa no trabalho tornava apetecidos aqueles convívios laborais. Podia faltar noutros dias, mas no almoço/ jantar da cegada “toda a gente tinha prazer p’ra apresentar o melhor que tinha: presunto, cordeiro, cascanho, orelha, butelo.” It is this way that the historian Belarmino Afonso described the labor in the fields 40 years ago in his research about “Roçadas e Tradições comunitárias no Planalto da Lombada”.
