LOCATION

Activity area under Rama VIII Bridge

Amusement park area next to Rama VIII Bridge

Suan Luang King Rama VIII, located between the music school and Rama VIII Bridge.

Rama VIII Bridge helps connect travel between the Phra Nakhon side and the Thonburi side to be more convenient. It helps relieve cars on the Somdet Phra Pinklao Bridge by up to 30% and on the Krungthon Bridge by another 20% and can also reduce air pollution in the city.

Rama VIII Bridge has a total length of 475 meters and is as high as the Somdej Phra Pinklao Bridge. and the slope is not more than 3%. It is a main bridge with a span of 300 meters across the river, a bridge with a span of 100 meters on land, and a bridge with a span of 75 meters with pillars. It has a striking and beautiful form because it was designed as an asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge. This means that there is only one main bridge pillar on the Thonburi side. And there is 1 weightbearing pole on the Phra Nakhon side.

The space itself has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that it is next to a river that can be transported by boat and is more accessible to people and has good views and clear air. The downside is that if you're not from the area, access is difficult, for example traveling there is quite a traffic jam, and if you're not from the area, it's difficult to find things to eat and you don't know where to stay.

The site section describe the relationship between its surrounding include the local community near a temple and school an the west side and Chao Praya River on the east side. Moreover, its also illustrate the relationship to the site context that there were no high-rise building to obscure the view from the site.
