A normal home you won’t forget too soon. One hundred years ago, Wilhelmina von Hallwyl and her husband Walther acquired a plot of land in the middle of the city, everything at the site was demolished and a magnificent palace was built in the middle of the city. She needed the space for her large collection of antiques and works of art. Walther needed a proper office, one that was suited to their way of life. One of the most well-known architects at the time, Isak Gustaf Clason, was enlisted and the whole construction of the building took five years. Parties, luxury, oysters, champagne, and fourteen-course meals were commonplace here in the great hall of 2,000 square meters. Here the family lived until they died and the house became a museum, which is possible to visit today and have a look. Enjoy a guided tour or a visit the state apartment yourself.

Ett vanligt hem som du sent kommer att glömma. För hundra år sedan köpte Wilhelmina von Hallwyl och hennes man Walther tomten mitt i staden, allt som stod på platsen revs och här byggdes ett pampigt palats mitt i staden. Wilhelmina behövde utrymme för sina stora samlingar av antikviteter och konstverk. Walther behövde ett ordentligt kontor och något som passade deras livsstil. En av tidens mest kända arkitekter, Isak Gustaf Clason, anlitades och hela bygget tog fem år. Fest, flärd, ostron, champagne och fjortonrättersmenyer tillhörde vanligheten här i det stora huset på 2 000 kvadratmeter. Här levde de tills de dog och huset blev ett museum som idag går att besöka och beskåda. Ta del av en guidad visning eller besök paradvåningen på egen hand.

Beskåda skeppet Vasa som är världens enda bevarade 1600-talsskepp och en unik konstskatt. Skeppet som sjönk under sin jungfruseglats mitt i Stockholm år 1628 och bärgades 333 år senare, år 1961. Består till mer än 95 procent av originaldelar och ger en unik inblick i det tidiga 1600-talets Sverige.
