ANOTHER GOAL: GOING CO2 NEUTRAL The textile industry is responsible for approximately 8% of overall worldwide carbon emissions. Frankly, by our mere existence we are part of the problem. Pally’Hi therefore signed a cooperation with the foundation Plant-for-the-Planet, which computed Pally’Hi’s current CO2 emission. Through this cooperation, we support Plant-for-the-Planet in planting trees on the Yucatán Peninsula which capture CO2 and have valuable co-benefits for the sustainable development for the people in the area. The examined certificate proves the size of the reforestation area which is required to equilibrate Pally‘Hi´s current non-avoidable CO2 emissions and has valuable co-benefits for the sustainable development for the people on-site. Furthermore, Plant-for-the-Planet educates children to become Climate Justice Ambassadors and support them in the years to come. The ambassadors spread the word about climate neutrality and about how companies become major players in climate policy. Minimizing logistic routes on the map also has a big impact on our footprint. We strive to minimize the footprint of our shipping whenever possible. Our primary objectives are to optimize routes from wool suppliers to spinners, from knitting factories to consumers, in order to decrease fuel consumption. In 2020 we could also cut down air and sea freight to under 8%, while using mainly collective land transport or railway services.
PACKAGING POLICY
Die Minimierung der Logistikrouten auf der Landkarte hat ebenfalls große Auswirkungen auf unseren Fußabdruck. Wir bemühen uns, den Fußabdruck unseres Versands zu minimieren, wann immer dies möglich ist. Unsere Hauptziele sind die Optimierung der Routen von den Wolllieferanten zu den Spinnereien und von den Strickereien zu den Kunden, um den Treibstoffverbrauch zu senken. Im Jahr 2020 konnten wir auch den Luft-und Seefrachtverkehr auf unter 8% senken, da wir hauptsächlich LKW-Sammeltransporte und die Bahn nutzten.
VERPACKUNGSPOLITIK Ein Schlüsselthema, mit dem unser Unternehmen konfrontiert ist, ist die Notwendigkeit einer Verpackung, die jedes Produkt schützt, wenn es die Fabrik auf dem Weg zu seinem endgültigen Bestimmungsort verlässt. Feuchtigkeit, Staub, das Passieren des Zolls, schlechte Handhabung und Lagerung: Die Gründe für den Schutz unserer Produkte sind zahlreich, um eine sichere Ankunft nach einer gefahrvollen Reise zu gewährleisten. Dabei sind auch logistische Einschränkungen zu berücksichtigen. Unser Streben nach Kunststofffreiheit: Wir streben an, dass alle unsere Verpackungsmaterialien bis 2023 kunststofffrei sind. Unser ständiges Streben nach Verbesserung ist der Motor unseres Fortschritts. Wir sind nicht perfekt, aber wir suchen nach Lösungen, die einen positiven Unterschied machen.
REDUCE YOUR FOOTPRINT
One key issue our business faces is the need for packaging to protect each product when it leaves the factory on the way to its final destination. Moisture, dust, passing through customs, poor handling, and storage: the reasons for protecting our products are numerous to ensure safe passage during their perilous voyage, with many logistical constraints to consider as well. Our plastic-free ambition: We are aiming for all our packaging materials to be plastic-free by 2023. The constant pursuit of better is what drives our progress. We're not perfect, but we're looking for solutions that make a positive difference.
Die Textilindustrie ist für etwa 8% der gesamten weltweiten Kohlenstoffemissionen verantwortlich. Offen gesagt, allein durch unsere Existenz sind wir Teil des Problems. Pally'Hi unterzeichnete daher eine Kooperation mit der Stiftung Plant-for-the-Planet, die Pally'Hi's aktuellen CO2-Ausstoß berechnete. Durch diese Zusammenarbeit unterstützen wir Plant-forthe-Planet bei der Pflanzung von Bäumen auf der Halbinsel Yucatán, die CO2 einfangen und einen wertvollen Zusatznutzen für die nachhaltige Entwicklung der Menschen in der Region haben. Das geprüfte Zertifikat belegt die Größe der Aufforstungsfläche, die erforderlich ist, um Pally'Hi's derzeitige nicht vermeidbare CO2-Emissionen auszugleichen, und ausserdem für die nachhaltige Entwicklung der Menschen vor Ort einen wertvollen Beitrag leistet. Darüber hinaus bildet Plant-for-the-Planet Kinder zu Klimagerechtigkeits-Botschaftern aus und unterstützt sie in den kommenden Jahren. Die Botschafter verbreiten Informationen über Klimaneutralität und darüber, wie Unternehmen zu wichtigen Akteuren in der Klimapolitik werden.
