Welcome to the ASTA Global Convention ASTA is pleased to welcome you to Reno Tahoe for what promises to be the most spectacular Global Convention in recent memory. This one-ofa-kind annual event is where travel industry professionals obtain in-depth, interactive education and hear from industry leaders, while networking with peers and industry suppliers. Here is what you can expect during the convention this week: • Industry Leaders’ View from the Top – Be the first to hear what titans of the travel industry leaders are planning and how it will impact you. We have an exclusive interview lined up with Arne Sorenson, Marriott President & CEO as well as an interactive panel of ocean and river cruise line executives including Andy Stewart, President & COO, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Edie Rodriguez, President & CEO, Crystal Cruises. • World-Class Education to Grow Your Business – Bring home marketing and sales tips that work for corporate agents, leisure agents and owners/managers. From the travel agency value proposition to best practices in social media to leadership strategies, AGC will provide tips you can use your first day back in the office. • Discover the Reno you haven’t seen – From Squaw Valley to Lake Tahoe to the wild west of the legendary Virginia City, there is so much on offer in and around Reno. Make sure you take the time to experience it yourself! • The Latest in Industry, Government Affairs and Legal – Some days it seems the government is the greatest “disruptor” of all. Our ed sessions will cover duty of care, implications of the Department of Labor’s new overtime and IC regulations, and the future of TSA PreCheck. You’ll walk away knowing what you need to do to protect your agency from government fines, lawsuits and other disruption. • Inspiring and Entertaining Speakers – You’ll hear “Hero Pilot” Sully Sullenberger’s inspirational story, the subject of a new feature film starring Tom Hanks, and don’t forget our emcee this year is the everpopular Samantha Brown from the Travel Channel! Thank you for choosing to take time out of your busy schedule to join us in Reno Tahoe. The ASTA staff has endeavored to bring you session and networking opportunities that will inspire, educate, and help you move your business forward. To our proud partners, members and other attendees, we thank you for your continued support and hope that you enjoy your time in the “Biggest Little City in the World.” Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones this week!
