Texas A&M University-Texarkana is home to Bringle Lake Village, a 294-bed residence hall that provides students a space to live, learn, and experience college life to the fullest. Living with your peers and experiencing a host of residenceonly activities, you’ll be immediately immersed in your new life in the Eagle family.
Bringle Lake Village features complimentary high-speed wifi, fully furnished rooms, and an outdoor courtyard with a pool and sand volleyball court. There are also built-in study spaces and a full-sized kitchen that can be reserved on request. Quarters are not required, as our residence hall laundry facilities are provided free of charge.
Perched on the north end of the A&M-Texarkana campus, the residence hall is conveniently located so that the entire university is easily accessible via a short walk. The Lois & Cary Patterson Student Center is just steps away, and is home to Ace’s Place Café featuring Starbucks Coffee, a game room, fitness center, and our gym…home to Eagles basketball and volleyball teams as well as recreational and intramural sports.
The safety and security of our students is our top priority. Access to the residence hall is restricted and the building remains locked at all times. Residents are issued a proximity card to gain entry into the building and keys for their specific room. Visitor access is limited as well, and all guests are required to register at the front desk. On January 23, 2006, the Student Affairs Council, now known as the Student Government Association, created our mascot, ACE the eagle! ACE stands for Advancing Community Education. ACE, an Aquarius, is free-spirted, clever, and goal-oriented. A fun fact about ACE is that he shares a birthday with the wife of TAMUT’s second university president, Dr. Hensley.
Texas A&M University-Texarkana combines the traditional academic advising and career development offices into one office called the Advising and Career Experience Center (ACE Center). Combining these two departments creates a more dynamic experience for the student, and allows each student a better opportunity to ensure that their field of study and course selections closely align with their career goals. We’ve combined one of the first departments students interact with (advising) with one that is typically the last (career development) so that the student is better served throughout their time at the university.
Student Counseling Services strives to provide mental health services to help support our students’ growth academically and personally. We do this by providing clinical services that affirm a student’s identity and experiences and support their goals, while also instilling hope and a growth mindset.
The Eagle Career Closet provides a way for Texas A&MTexarkana students to access FREE professional attire appropriate for career fairs, interviews, and the workplace. The inventory includes suits, blazers, skirts, button-down shirts, and more. Our goal is to help our students look their best throughout their job search so they can make a positive impression as they enter the professional world.
The Charlotte Sharp Eagle Pantry aids student success by providing essential non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to students in need. The Eagle Pantry is open on specific, preset dates and is available other times for an immediate or urgent need. The pantry is available to any student in need by showing a current student ID card.
The First-Year Experience (FYE) program features engaging activities designed to help acclimate incoming students to the college environment. Working closely with FYE coaches and faculty members helps students to establish relationships with mentors and peer groups that ensure a strong start and a successful first year at A&M-Texarkana.
If you’re the type of student who is interested in pursuing additional opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting, A&M-Texarkana’s Honors Program is where you belong. The Honors Program is designed to give motivated undergraduate students the opportunity to expand their understanding of their areas of study, develop leadership skills in and beyond the campus environment, and work closely with faculty mentors in student-driven research projects.
PATHWAYS (Providing Assistance That Helps While Accomplishing Your Success) is a mentorship program designed to encourage and assist students by offering a supportive network of academic, career, and social development with guidance and engagement to enhance academic and personal success. Program benefits include an annual scholarship, intensive mentorship, career development and networking education, financial literacy skills training, and leadership and communication development.
Texas A&M University-Texarkana recognizes that the workplace of the future will require higher-level skills performed from an international perspective. A&M-Texarkana prepares students for a knowledge-based, technology-oriented, global economy and society by providing opportunities for students to travel and study outside of the United States.
Our Student Success Center plays a vital role in academic support for students. Success Center tutors are available to help students understand difficult course content, prepare for tests, and build long-term study skills. Supplemental Instruction is also available, with tutors helping students succeed in classes that are generally considered among the most difficult.
TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program designed to increase the number of under-served populations, low-income students, first-generation students, and college students with disabilities to successfully complete their desired undergraduate degrees. TRIO SSS provides academic and personal support to meet participants’ individual needs, enabling them to persevere and ensure they succeed at A&M-Texarkana.
Whether you are on active duty, are a reservist, a National Guard member, a veteran, or their family member, we thank you for your service to our nation and promise to make your experience at A&M-Texarkana rewarding. The Texarkana community is unique in that the greater town is technically a dual municipality made up of two cities, Texarkana, Texas and Texarkana, Arkansas, that are divided by State Line Avenue. Each city maintains independent city governments, police forces, fire departments, and other city/municipal offices.
The State Line Post Office and Federal Courthouse building is the only U.S. post office/federal building that sits in two states. It is rumored to be the most photographed courthouse in the United States after the Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. When you visit, make a point to stop by and take a picture on photographer’s island in front of the post office while standing with one foot in Texas and one foot in Arkansas.

A&M-Texarkana has a satellite location on the campus of Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. This academic partnership allows many NTCC graduates to earn their bachelor’s degree by taking A&M-Texarkana classes taught at the university’s NTCC location. We have staff available at NTCC to assist current and future Eagles.
The RELLIS Academic Alliance is a University System Center that allows multiple Texas A&M System institutions and agencies (including Texas A&M University-Texarkana) to offer selective degree and certificate programs in one location. The RELLIS Campus, located in Bryan, TX, is not a university. RELLIS students enroll in one of the A&M System regional universities that are offering a specific academic program on-site, similar to an academic satellite campus.
Texas A&M University-Texarkana also works closely with Texarkana College, University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, and Paris Junior College. Work is underway to develop additional community college partnerships using guided pathways to ensure a smooth transition for all who would like to continue towards the completion of their bachelor’s degree.
“The faculty and staff are so engaged with the students; it’s evident how dedicated they are to their success.”
“Everyone made me feel confident in the decision my daughter made to come to school here. I feel she will be supported when I’m not around.”
“People here seem to genuinely care about student success, and it shows.”
“I really appreciate everything the school has done and is doing to make the parents feel like we have a grip on what’s happening and the journey ahead. My daughter will be a first-generation student, so I’ve felt lost for a long time. TAMUT has been wonderful about easing those fears.”
“All staff made themselves very available, and I love that any concern was answered the same day.”
“My political science classes at A&M-Texarkana provided an academic background that prepared me for the challenges of law school. Having classes and teachers that allowed for extensive direct professor-student interaction gave me a great foundation for the types of classes I encountered at law school.”
HANNAH DYAL Bachelor of Science in Political Science“The professors were wonderful and always willing to work with you if you needed help. Through my classes I was exposed to a lot of technology that prepared me well for what I’m doing now. There are also a lot of built-in programs to help you succeed, like the Success Center and the TRIO program.”
LAMONTE SCOTT Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering“I really enjoyed being in a program where I was with others who were not traditional college-aged students. Being around other students who were also working and completing their education like me was a unique and positive experience. Not only do you learn from your classes, you learn from the life experiences of your classmates.”
AMBER ADAMS Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences
