The bands title is “Ten Minutes behind� however with research and discussion the whole band could not help me with the project because of other promises to other students, however members of the band are happy to help me and have loads of ideas and already have an idea on what song to do.
The band I have chosen to use for my final video is ‘Ten Minutes Behind’ I chose this band because they are good friends of mine and also I can rely on them and also because they are an unsigned artist. The band members are college students studying BTEC in music, they call their genre (alternative, Punk and Guitar Rock) and they write their own music as well as doing covers of well known songs. The band members are : Tom Adams, Immi "Spade" Wade, Matt Bruty and Leonard Jay. However the band have made other promises to other media students but members of the band are happy to help me with my projects including the singer and a guitarist.
The band formed at the same college as me but I found out about them through friends and social network such as Facebook (the top image) and by text messages, we kept in contact throughout the half term and before that talking about meeting up, the basic explanations and me asking about the band in general for example (what they done recently, if they really want to do this and what kind of music they play). We mainly meet up at the forum in Norwich which is usually where everyone meets and where we all can associate.
When I met up with the band at first they gave me they card which I photocopied and pasted on to this slide which is to prove they are really into their music and also it has their number on so I can contact them.
To show that I have actually planned/met the band I have taken pictures as well as discussing ideas and plans to meet up to talk in person as well as by social networking and by text, I have kept all the messages, texts and pictures to show the evidence.
This is a photocopy of my workbook which was provided to me at the beginning of A2 ,what I have done is ticked every task that I have completed to note what I have done and what needs to be done, I also take quick notes to remind me of tasks which are needed to be done or what I want to add onto that task in particular.
I knew that this is my chosen band because they are very enthusiastic and exited in making a music video, their personality suits the project as well because they are very easy to work with, have loads of ideas and have worked with other media students before. So final thoughts on using this band is a positive one because with their enthusiasm and being easy to work with I will use this band for my project. My next step is to decide on a the song because planning on the music video will take a long time as well as understanding the bands image and style for other co-projects as it will be needed to be completed and with the decided song the image, video and the bands attitude will be so much easier to construct and show. The band have a song in mind that they want to do and will lend me a copy soon.
