My skills list

My Skills List Illustration/design Much of my love for fashion came from my fondness for art and design and my ability to be able to draw. I have learnt how to illustrate and design fashion sketches through my years of education and since being at university can now draw technical flats with detail and structure.

Adobe Photoshop My knowledge of photoshop continues to grow, as there are a vast amount of skills to learn from it. I would say I know the overall basics of photoshop for example editing photos and creating mood board pages.

Adobe Indesign The skills I have gained from Indesign have been most useful to me especially when creating magazine layouts for look books and also for creating online sketchbooks that are professional and of a high standard.

Styling I have always enjoyed styling my own fashion creations and sourcing clothing to create my own trends. Through university experiences on photo shoots I have succeeded in producing outfits that cater for certain clients and concepts. My skills in photoshop have helped me to produce mood boards in order to gain inspiration and create innovative themes for styling clothing to meet a deadline.

Photography For many years now my skills in studio photography have improved massively and I have learnt many techniques that help to create the right mood and atmosphere to fit a certain brief. For many of my projects during university I have photographed and styled my own work and produced images of a high standard.

Creative Writing Many of my projects at university have comprised of writing creatively including writing magazine features, interviews, press releases and trend forecasting; which I have all enjoyed hugely. Also outside of university I created my own fashion blog that I enjoy updating with my fashionable interests and experiences.

Merchandising I have gained merchandising skills through work experience by identifying market trends and extensive competitor and product research. Also I have experience in visual merchandising, creating innovative displays in showrooms and store layout.

PUBLIC RELATIONS My PR skills have developed from working with live clients and improving their brand awareness through promotional methods such as social media, posters and organizing events.

Organization I have always remained very organized within my university work and managed my time efficiently when working to a specific deadline. Also when working in a team, I find that I naturally I like to make sure everyone is organized and knows their role and responsibility.

Communication I have always been adequate at speaking with employers and my confidence speaking on the phone has improved extensively. I have experience of speaking on the phone and am confident when meeting employers through interviews as I have had much experience of this. I feel this an important skill to acquire, as it will help me to stand out amongst other candidates when going to job interviews.
