Analysis of Heritage Adaptation - Queen Street Heritage Adaptation: - A kind of urban rehabilitation processes - Conserving the historically significant features in the city while adapting to the modern society Aims of mapping: - How heritage adapt to the functions of the modern buildings Method: - The building footprint with white center and coloured boundary means that the building has changed into offices and appartment while the historical facades are maintained. - The building with the full coloured block means that the building is having the same function as before. General Findings: - Queen Street is a commercial and court distract in Meblourne nowadays. More than half of the heritage have changed their functions to become offices and apartment. Most of them have been conserved with the historical features, especially the facades. The heritage without changing in function are mainly containing a specifc use, such as the Supreme Court and The Queen Victoria Market.
