The Solution: The LumActiv photo-catalytic coating supports active cleaning process and compliments the UVAIRX system LumActiv™ is an ISO certified photo-catalytic water-based coating that can be added to any hard surfaces in a hospital. LumActiv How It Works

In 1967, PhD student Akira Fujishima working in a small lab at the University of Tokyo discovered that the anatase form of titanium dioxide, a common food pigment, decomposes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other air pollutants when exposed to UV light. More than 48 years and over 3,000 academic studies later, scientists agree that global air pollution can be positively impacted by the widespread application of photo-catalytic anatase titanium dioxide coatings.

In the presence of light, the compounds that our coating is capable of decomposing include nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), formaldehyde, benzene, allergens, pathogens, odors and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation conducted a test to prove the efficacy of its DryWired’s nanocoatings. The following JIS Z 2801:2010 test was performed by A2LA. Solution: The school installed an in-duct UVAIRx system. After installation, illnesses dropped by 600%.
