CONCLUSION •  A study sponsored by, the American Society of HeaCng, RefrigeraCon and Air-CondiConing Engineers(ASHRAE), states that it is nearly impossible for an exisCng venClaCon system to eliminate airborne parCculates without the aid of air filtraCon devices. •  Among commercial buildings, retail buildings rank second in energy consumpCon and greenhouse gas emissions, aker office buildings (Zhang et al. 2011, Kennedy et al. 2012). •  Retail sites that sell clothing can be a source for texCle parCcles and harmful VOC off-gassing. •  Lack of air circulaCon promotes poor air quality for workers and customers •  Grocery stores showed 2.6 Cmes mass concentraCon of parCculate mager than the naConal ambient air quality standards •  Outdoor retail shops use a tremendous amount of un-insulated glass and glass cleaning costs run high.
