PROJECT START: 14/11/16 PROJECT DEADLINE: 12/01/17 PROJECT AIM AND SCENARIO: This project builds upon the skills, knowledge and understanding developed in the previous introductionary project. You will work as a small indie games studio tasked with making a 2D retro game. The smallest your team can be is a pair with the largest group set at four people. You will develop your practical knowledge and skills, showing how you can work in a team to make your own 2D game. This will involve thinking about the audience, pitching ideas, as well as practical game deisgn practices and production. Project Brief: - Use mechanics that you have already learned in the previous assignment and combine them to create your own game. - Create at least one working menu, level and end screen with restart option. - Create custom sprites, backgounds, animations, music and sound effects for your game.

Task 1 - PRE-PRODUCTION AND PITCHING YOUR GAME
You will present 2 group pitchs that will cover the following: Pitch 1 - An overview of your proposed game Pitch 2 - Research on how your game meets your audience needs You will need to develop a GDD, establish the job roles and team leader of your group, set-up a shared One Drive, create an asset list for your game and a weekly working schedule for game production. ASSESMENT EVIDENCE: Presentations, One Drive docs and video recordings Task 2 - GAME PRODUCTION
- All team members to work together to produce all game assets and programming of the game, ensure that everyone works towards each element of the game, audio, visual and interactive. - All production and contribution by each team member must be recorded each session. ASSESMENT EVIDENCE: One Drive docs with all of game assets, Game Maker exe and file, production documentation Task 3 - FINAL GAME TESTING AND EVALUATION - Develop questionnaires for peer reviews of game and complete final bug testing. - Final pitch on sucesses of the game in comparison with GDD, schedule and how it meets audience needs. - Self evaluation of project and team management. ASSESMENT EVIDENCE: All questsionnaires, results, record of bug tests, presentations and video recordings
