“There are always sounds to be heard and all of them are excellent.

Planning & Attention to Detail What equipment will you need? How will you record in the best conditions? How much time will you need? How will you organise what you need when you need it?

Important things to consider and research: • What do other games use in their sound design that is similar to your project? • Why do they work?

• What effect and atmosphere do you want to achieve?

‌.Be your own foley artist for sound effects Start with household objects. “The house is a gold mine" for interesting sound effects. Doors, chairs, tools, kitchen utensils - so many things within your reach can make sounds you can use. Experiment. Often the effect you're after will be made by something you find just by messing around with sounds. What sounds things make around you and figure out what it could represent in your audio.

How are you going to source and make the background music (if you want it)? You can download copyright free music via a sound library. You can edit a track or compose your own. This can be achieved easily through a mixture of sampling, recording everyday life sounds and clever digital editing e.g. pitch, time stretch, reverb etc. Can you make your dog barking turn into a monster and can you record the wind and water to make an ambient music sequence? Be creative!

You could create a 8-bit style sound track too using Pulse Boy

How are you going to source the vocals (if any)? Voice Acting/ Vocals This can be turned into sound effects or used for music - Who will speak for you? - Will you need someone with a certain accent?
