Types of Trailers
Trailers are the tool that producers count on to help them get a one up on the competition and make their product number one. Trailers aren't very long so it's very important to make a lasting impression in a quick amount of time. There are usually three different trailer types: •

However, they all have the same objective: Capture attention and make people compelled to watch it. A Teaser Trailer This is an advertising campaign which typically consists of a series of small, cryptic, challenging advertisements that anticipate a larger, full-blown campaign for a product launch or otherwise important event. These advertisements are called "teasers". A teaser trailer for an upcoming film, television program, video game and is usually released long in advance of the product, so as to "tease" the audience. This is usually done online.
In-Cinema trailer Once upon a time, the trailers that we now see before the feature film starts, were played at the end of the feature film. But movie makers soon caught on that people don't usually stick around after they've seen the movie to watch trailers so they moved the trailers to the beginning of the movies. If you get to the movies early enough you will have the privilege of watching trailers cut specifically for the big screen. Cinema trailers are different in that they are lot longer than other types of trailers, often lasting several minutes. You also get a better understanding of what the movie is about with movie trailers.
Trailers for T.V Television trailers played on T.V are shown during commercial breaks. They are the shortest of the trailer formats but have the potential to reach the largest audience. This forces movie makers to try to pack as much hard hitting imagery and language as possible in those seconds. T.V trailers don't focus much on letting you know what the movie is about.
