Notes from the management team: We would like to say a big thank you to our wonderful team for their hard work and consistency during the year. It has been a tricky one at times but we’ve made it through! We would also like to say a big thank you all of our parents and carers who have given us their continued support through 2019! It means a lot to us we would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Here is to 2020! Message about bags:
HEALTH AND SAFTEY NOTICE - NO BUGGIES FOR FZ
Please do not leave food, medication or snacks in your child’s bags. We have noticed children eating from their bags. This is a no no - please remove it or do not put it in there!
Message for children and parents in FREEDOM ZONE: As our younger rooms are becoming more full, the lobby is filling up with buggies. Children in Freedom Zone should be walking or scooting to nursery rather than coming in in the buggy. In January we will be saying no more buggies for Freedom Zone. This gives you plenty of time to give up the buggy!
HEALTH AND SAFTEY NOTICE - No carrier bags on children’s pegs.
We have noticed a few children are bringing in carrier bags as their school bags. Please do not do this as children have free access to their pegs and carrier bags can cause suffocation. A small rucksack is perfect for a spare change of clothes and other little bits your child might need.
HEALTH AND SAFTEY NOTICE - Please bring in hats and gloves with your child’s name written inside on the label!
Please bring in a hat and glove set for your child everyday. It is getting very cold now — please put your child’s name on the label to prevent them going missing. We do not have spare gloves on site !
Welcome’s and Goodbye's We would like to welcome Advika, Vivaan and Sofia to our Harvard Park family. We would like to welcome Martina to our team and welcome back to Gurpreet who will be covering Nabila A’s sabbatical. We would like to say goodbye to Nivi, Erick and Daniel who left us at the end of November. We would also like to say a sad goodbye to Nabila from Baby Studio and to Katie who will both be leaving us at the end of this month. We would like to say thank you for all your hard work over your time with us and we wish you all the best for the future! Don’t forget us and keep in touch.

Christmas post boxes will be open from Monday 2nd December to Friday 20th December. Please do not feel you have to write cards, it is entirely your choice. Encourage your children to mark make in their cards to make them extra special! Christmas card lists will be available from Monday 2nd December. •

Thank You’s: Thank you to Nhia and her family for donating a whole load of books to us! The children have had great fun looking at them already. Thank you to Saanvi and family for clothes donations and a big thank you to anyone else who has donated bits and pieces to us this year! They have been gratefully received.
Birthdays for the month of December: Small Steps: Happy 2nd birthday to Theo. Freedom Zone: Happy 3rd birthday to Amazing, Freya and Yahya. Happy 4th birthday to Reyansh too! Topic: It’s time for Christmas!
Focus: Personal Social and Emotional development We will be doing lots of messy Christmas based activities so make sure you are checking your cubby holes for gifts and treats. We will also be doing lots of visits to Small Steps to give the children opportunities to socialise in different environments and with new faces. Just a reminder to please provide your child with the right sized shoes! Mission: Sing head, shoulders, knees and toes with your child at home to find out what they know! It is a great way to help them recognise their body parts as well as develop new language! Goodbye to Imma and Shanaya who will be moving up to Small Steps soon. Welcome to Vivaan and Sofia into our room.
Firstly a small reminder , Please bring your child in before 9:00am if you want them to have breakfast. Any time after this your child will be offered a piece of fruit. It disrupts our routine and often upsets the child when they are eating alone at the table. Second reminder is to please provide your child with the right sized shoes and to provide 3-4 outfit changes and spare clothes in their bags. Please take you water bottles home and don’t forget to sign in and out everyday! We will be doing lots of Christmas based activities such as festive language jars, making our own Christmas cards, Christmas decorations, looking at festive books and walks around the local area to see what we can find! We will also be having lots of free flow with Freedom Zone so we get to explore a new area and different activities! Mission: to sign your child in and out of our room everyday! Goodbye to Anjana who will be moving up to Freedom Zone. Welcome to Imma and Shanaya from Baby Studio.
Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats Topic: It’s Christmas! December is the month of festivities, endless activities and lots of crafting! Over then next month you will be receiving lots of Christmas gifts and activities so please make sure you are checking tables at home time as well as cubby holes and ask your children if they have anything they need to take home with them. We will be learning the story of Christmas and why we celebrate it, decorating our Christmas tree, making snowmen, Santa's and lots more! We will also continue to take lots of trips around the local area looking at the lights and visiting the library to find new Christmas books. We will also have an elf workshop where children can develop their fine and gross motor skills through wrapping and writing cards! Mission: practise you mark making at home! Write a letter to santa to post in your local post box.
Reminders: Breakfast finishes @ 9:00am: Please bring your child in before 9:00am if you want them to have breakfast. Any time after this your child will be offered a piece of fruit as snack is conducted at 10:30am. Send in family photo’s and upload pictures onto the EyLog: Our Christmas Advent event is happening on Facebook! Please make sure you are uploading your pictures onto your EyLog’s! Well Done to Freya and family for uploading you first set of photo’s - great ornament sorting! Primary school admissions are now open: If your child was born between 1st September 2015 - 31st August 2016 you will need to apply for a primary school place before 15th January 2020. Christmas Dates for your diaries Friday 29th November: Nabila Ali’s Last day until April 2020 Thank you for everything you have done for us over the last few years. We will really miss you and look forward to seeing you again in April! Monday 2nd December – Christmas Post boxes are open! Christmas post boxes will be open from Monday 2nd December to Friday 20th December. Please do not feel you have to write cards, it is entirely your choice. Tuesday 17th December: Children Christmas Lunch – Dress Up! This applies to all rooms: Today Jutstyna will prepare a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings including party hats! It is a Dress up day for children so encourage your child to pick their favourite fancy dress outfit! Unfortunately due to our high numbers, we will not be able to swap children’s days. Children will get the opportunity to engage is some fun Christmassy activities including wrapping stations and festive dancing! Santa will pop in to see us too! Tea will be served as normal. Wednesday 18th December: Children’s party tea – Christmas Jumpers! Christmas jumpers for all rooms . Encourage your child to wear their favourite Christmas jumpers and join us in a variety of games and festive activities. Santa will also be paying us a visit today too! Unfortunately due to our high numbers, we will not be able to swap children’s days. Lunch will be served as normal but we will be having a party tea to celebrate! Friday 20th December – Christmas post boxes are closed! Today will be the last day for our Christmas post! Monday 23rd December: Nabila K’s and Katie’s last day We would like to say thank you for all that you have done over the past few years with us. We will miss you both very much and we will you all the best for the future – don’t forget us and keep in touch! Tuesday 24th December: Christmas Eve – Pyjama day for everyone! It’s Christmas eve and to make sure we are all ready for the next day we will be having a 4:00pm closure . Please be prompt when picking up your child as we all want to be home tucked up in bed ready for Santa to arrive! Please encourage your child to come in your favourite festive pyjamas and enjoy a relaxing Christmas eve. At lunch Sandwiches and party food will be served to Freedom Zone and Small Steps, Baby Studio will have lunch as normal. We would like to thank our Harvard Park team for their hard work this year; and thank you our parents and carers of Harvard Park for your continued support and co-operation, we really do appreciate it!!
