Harvard Park Day Nursery LTD.
Notes from the management team: We would just like to remind you that if your child is ill or has been ill over the night, please tell us. We have a lot of children coming in with temperatures and nothing has been said. Please inform us if you have given calpol or they have been unwell in the night. Have you downloaded the ParentMail and EyLog apps? They are both free to download and register with. It is important for your partnership with us to have these downloaded and accessible to receive notifications about your child’s learning as well as important notices such as closure dates and reminders.
Coronavirus update:
Bank Holidays
Please do not be offended if our practitioners or managers ask you where you have been and what countries you have travelled to over the last few weeks. We have to safe guard our children but also ourselves - we are being updated with advice from our Early Years Team on a regular basis. If you are concerned please visit the .gov.uk website.
These are just reminders for Bank Holiday dates where we will be CLOSED:
Party Bags for birthdays and cakes:
HEALTH AND SAFTEY NOTICE - NO BUGGIES FOR FZ
Please note we do not encourage party bag gifts on your child’s birthday. If you would like to give a gift, healthy snack alternatives such as fruit or raisin boxes are good or a small book for each child or the setting. Simple cakes from Asda are good, please avoid large fresh cream cakes with lots of sugar!
Message for children and parents in FREEDOM ZONE:
Friday 10th April: Good Friday Monday 13th April: Easter Monday Friday 8th May: has been moved from Monday 4th May to commemorate 75th anniversary of VE Day. Monday 25th May: Spring Bank Holiday
As our younger rooms are becoming more full, the lobby is filling up with buggies. Children in Freedom Zone should be walking or scooting to nursery rather than coming in in the buggy. In January we will be saying no more buggies for Freedom Zone. This gives you plenty of time to give up the buggy!
Please do not open the double doors in Freedom Zone: Please wait for a member of staff to open the door to the outside area. Staff have training on this door and you pose a health and safety risk when you open it. Wait for a practitioner. Welcome’s and Goodbye's We would like to welcome Amanvir and Kai to Harvard Park! We would also like to say a sad goodbye to Adharv from Freedom Zone and Theo from Small Steps who is moving house . We wish you all the best of luck in your new journeys.

Harvard Park Day Nursery LTD.
Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies
Notes from Baby Studio: Ducklings
Topic: Stories and Books, Songs and Rhymes
Focus: Communication and language. As it is world book day this month, we will be sharing lots of books with the babies and also taking trips to the library. Books will always help develop language, social communication and also develop attention and listening skills. We will be dressing up for world book day on the 5th of March and we would like you to dress your child up too. Alongside looking at books we will also be continuing with our story sacks and song bags! Reminder: Please bring in enough bottles for the whole day. If your child has 3 bottles of milk, please provide 3 clean bottles. We also like to take children for walks so please send in shoes, hats and thick winter coats. We do not have spares at nursery and your child will miss out if they do not have these items.
Mission: Send in pictures on the EyLog of you sharing books with your babies at home! Welcome to Amanvir, Kai and Cameron. Goodbye to Navyaan, Mithra and Matthew who will be moving up to Small Steps.
We will be continuing with stories ,songs and rhymes as it will act as a pre-teach for world book day which is on the 5th of March. We will also be using our knock knock boxes , story times and sensory baskets to help promote the children’s developing language. If you would like to see what any of these resources are such as our knock knock boxes or story sacks, please do not hesitate to ask one of us. For Mother’s day we will be inviting you in on separate dates for breakfast so keep your eye’s peeled for your date!
Mission: Share photo’s on your Eylog of your story times at home! Goodbye to Sanshi, Bhavesh, Micaiah, Ira D and Rayhanna who are moving to Freedom Zone. Welcome to Mithra, Navyaan and Matthew from Baby Studio!
Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats Topic: Traditional stories and rhymes During this topic we will be looking at lots of different books throughout the month. We will be looking at 3 main focus books for this topic; The 3 little pigs, Goldilocks and the 3 bears and Jack and the beanstalk - for our group times and focus times. This topic is supported by world book day which we will all be dressing up for on Thursday 5th March and we would like to encourage you to do the same. At group times, story times and focus groups practitioners will pick their favourite stories and explore them with the children in a variety of ways; from story books with story sacks, to creating our own stories with a range of mark making materials, role play inside and outside based on the stories and of course the development of language and learning new words. We will be doing the same with rhymes. Mission: If you have a book bag or would like to purchase one, we have a large library of books which you can borrow on a regular basis. Read to your children at home, extend their stories through role play and imagination. Sing to your children too, lots of rhymes and songs to extend children’s language and their understanding of the world.
Reminders: Sharing pictures on the EyLog: Please remember you can share lots of pictures and video’s on your child’s EyLog through the app. Anything you share with us is a memory for your children and also helps towards their development. Please do not bring toys into nursery: We understand that it can sometimes be hard to get your children out of the house, but please do not bring your toys from home into the nursery. We are not responsible for these going missing. It is your responsibility to take them with you when you drop off. There is too much upset happening at nursery when the children cannot share their toys from home. Spare Clothes: Please make sure you are bringing in a sufficient amount of clothes from home in case of accidents. This includes underwear socks and t-shirts. We do not have enough spares to keep lending out and not having things returned. 4 tops, 4 pairs of socks and underwear, 4 pairs of trousers and a pair of shoes is a good amount. To support us with our home area, please email in pictures of your home such as kitchen, child’s bedroom, garden or bathroom. This is to support children’s understanding that we all live in different homes and to identify similarities and differences between them.
