Harvard Park Day Nursery LTD.
Notes from Baby Studio: Ducklings
Notes from Small Steps: Bunnies
Focus: Personal, Social and Emotional development
Topic: Let’s Pretend!
We will be giving the babies many opportunities to develop personally, socially and emotionally through activities and free play. We will be going out on trips with Small Steps to allow the babies to meet new children, explore new areas and to build on their social skills. This will also help with transitioning as they will get to know the Small Steps practitioners too! Mission: Explore different outside environments where they can meet new people and gain new experiences.
This topic is one of our favourite s as we get to do lots of dressing up! Let’s Pretend encourages our children to develop their imagination. We will be doing lots of dressing up which helps develop their self-help skills and encourages them to dress themselves too. We will also be doing a few Halloween based activities too so check you cubby holes for some spooky treats! We will also be creating some Diwali gifts too at the end of the month. Mission: Bring in 1 soft toy to place on our all about me table for show and tell!
Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats Topic: Music from around the world and from different cultures. We will be doing lots of fun activities such as music and movement with instruments and colourful material, exploring different genres of music such as jazz and classical, experimenting with the way we can move to these genres, making our own instruments and of course continuing with gym sessions and forest school will be making a return at the end of the month too! If you have any multi-cultural CD’S or instruments you can come and share with us, we would love you to! Please speak to Viviana to find out a good time for you to come and share this with us. Reminders: Children who are potty training: Please bring in spare clothes for your children. 3 to 4 pairs of trousers, pants/knickers / socks and a pair of shoes will be enough. IF you have our spares, please bring them back as we are running very low on everything! Are you going away? Please don’t forget to share your pictures with us through your EyLog. All about us box: Please provide one item from home to put in our all about us box. This could be anything from a cuddly toy to an action figure. We will be labelling them so we can identify whose is who and using them as talking tools during group times.
