This month we will be discovering, engaging in and exploring ‘Sensory play’. Babies learn so much through sensory play which links to their development in all areas. We will be using food with different textures, messy play with paint, beans and spaghetti using both our hands and feet as well puff pastry play which we will be making with the children. These activities will enhance your child’s physical skills both fine and gross motor as well as give them to explore different textures using their whole bodies. Please can we remind all parents to sign their child in and out every day. This is very important if there is a fire as we head count against the register. Also please label all your child’s belongs such as bottles and clothes. This will prevent things being misplaced!

Your mission this month is to:-Your child’s keyworker may ask you to help them and your child to learn some words at home as the keyworker will be doing this in the setting. Please carry this on at home to get the full potential from our teamwork.

We will be exploring this topic by doing many things such as making vehicles out of junk modelling to engage your child’s creative side and later hanging them in and around the room to help their self confidence. Small steps will also be engaging in role play and dressing up by looking at the different uniforms our emergency services wear. This will help your children to recognise who is here to help us safely when out and about. These are just a select few of the activities we have chosen to share with you, but all of our activities are there to develop communication skills between peers and adults as well as helping to develop the knowledge of the outside world. Also please remember to bring a water cup for your child. We would like to welcome Casey and Aaliyah into our room.
