Harvard Park Pre-School Isleworth: February Newsletter 2018 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Amy – Welcome to February! We would like to welcome all new parents and children to our Harvard Park family. We would also like to welcome Charlotte to our Harvard Park Team. She will be introducing herself if you don’t already know her. We would like to say Happy Chinese new year for the 16 th of this month and happy valentine’s day for the 14th! You maybe receiving a little gift from your children so please make sure you are checking the artwork table. Half Term Dates: Our last day will be Friday 9 February and we will be open again on Monday 19th February at 8:00am. th
Labelling clothes and belongings: Our coat peg area is very crowded but we have to make use of what space we have. Please stick to your child’s correct peg with their name and picture. Please label their coat, school bag and any belongings they may have in there. We will be collecting a lost property box for anything we find without a name. The weather is changing and the chill is in the air. Please can we ask that you start to provide thick winter coats as well as gloves, hats and scarfs all clearly labelled with your child’s name. Pick ups and Drop offs Our Morning session- gate closes at 9:45am, you must be here to drop off before this time. IF you are late than this, we cannot let you in. The gate will open again at 11:40, if you are later than 11:50 you will be charged. Please read your prospectus as it is stated in there and also in the contract you have signed with us. If your child is ill please don’t bring them into nursery as they infect all staff and other children. Please ring if they will not be attending their sessions due to illness or holiday. We have a very important message from Smallberry Green’s head teacher: DO NOT Park in front of or outside the school gates. You will get in trouble if they see you on their CCTV. Do not park inside the car park either. Harvard Park will get in trouble for this too. If the gate is open, the CCTV is still in operation and they will register your number plate. Thank You’s: Thank you for bringing in fruit and vegetables, the children are enjoying all the different choices. So please keep it up Job advertisements: Do you know someone with a level 3 qualification in childcare? We are currently looking for full time and part time staff at both of our settings (Feltham and Isleworth). P.T.O for messages from the room News from Natalie, Jeanna, Lacey, Eva, Emma, Megan, Charlotte, Angela and Hina: Topic: Animals This month’s topic is Animals. Each week we will be looking at different kinds of animals. Zoos and oceans, farms and homes, and Pre-historic animals. We will be looking at sounds, prints, patterns and the different environments animals can be found in. We will also be using the garden area to explore and see what we can find. We have a few children with strong interests in animals so our activities will be planned in stages so that we can make the most out of this topic for our children. Please make sure you care checking for art work at home times.
Home Mission: If you can, visit local farm or walk in the environment to see what animals you can find. Use your own ict tools or tablets to Google or YouTube real life animals in their own environment. Also please upload pictures to your child’s EyLog profiles, if you need help with this please ask one of us. Birthdays and Important dates: We would like to wish a happy birthday to Hadees on the 1st, Kiara on the 4th, Charlotte on the 14th and to Amy on the 27th. We hope you all have lovely days and are able to share with us what you did on your EyLog profiles!
Important reminders: Is your child a whizz with technology? : We are currently developing a way for you to share with us how your child can use technology at home. If you have any pictures of them on a ipad, phone, computer or tablet, please share them with us via the EyLog or emails. Developing our Home Corner: Thank you to all those parents who have sent in their family pictures! Our board is still looking a little empty so please make sure you have sent yours in! Fundraising ideas: We are looking for some fundraising ideas. If you have any ideas you would like to put forward, we would love to hear them so please come and see us in the office. We have one idea: If you have you have any unwanted gifts or things you think other parents will like, kindly donate them and we will hold a raffle to help raise money for some new equipment. We will be looking to do this at Easter. Reading Book Bags for sale: We have a library which we allow you to borrow books from when you have a reading bag. They are yours to keep and cost £5. You are given full access to the library and also get a reading record where you can record what books you have taken and read as well as how your children reacted to them. Please see a member of staff for more details. Well done to all of you who made rockets for January’s topic of Space. They all look great so well done
