Harvard Park Day Nursery Feltham June Newsletter 2013.

News from the Managers Nicki and Tracey –

If your child is going to Reception or Nursery school in Sept 2013, please let us know when their last day will be at day nursery as soon as you can. However if your child is nursery age and you want to keep your child here for another year then please let us know as soon as possible . We will be doing a Summer Concert at some point but we will keep you posted on this. We would like to wish all our Dad’s, Uncle’s and Granddads’ a very Happy Fathers Day this month!

News from Deputy Carol- Hi If you have any unwanted pieces of material any size, hats, waistcoats, please could you donate them to us, as the children have amazing fun using it for all different areas of their development. Also if you have any spare newspapers lying around at home, could we please have them as we use them for activities, Thank You.

News from Baby Studio – Sana, Mary, Gurpreet, Sneha, and Nabila Our theme this month is Transport. We will be exploring this through different activities. Going out for walks, looking at different transport in the high street, visiting the train station , giving them awareness of the outside world , looking at different colours, how many wheels they have, different sounds they make , song & story time, helping to develop their communication and number skills.

• Can we please remind parents to bring their child’s daily book with them each time they attend nursery.

• Please provide a spare cup/beaker or sippy cup for your child’s milk if they still want it.

We would also like to say Welcome to: Kayden, Devmith, Martha, Maria, Tyler, Emily and Marley into our room. We would like to wish Sneha all the best with her Maternity as she will be leaving us Mid-June.

Your mission this month is to:- Whilst you are out and about or in the car, label different objects you see as this will encourage language development.

Give them a small introduction to numbers by counting wheels on toy car or bikes, or counting people that get off buses.

Dates and notes: - We would like to wish Jessica a very happy 2nd birthday on the 6th June and Gurpreet & Marina 19th and Sana 25th June Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our news letters on our new site to save our trees! We will of course print of a few copies to those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our parents table.

News from Bunnies – Gemma, Layla (who is covering Gulcan’s maternity leave), Diluni, Alia and Amy: Our topic for this month is also Transport. We will be looking at all the different ways we use to get around from walking to driving in the car. We will be going on walks to look at different types of transport on our roads as well as looking at and identifying the different road signs that we see. This will help develop your child’s awareness of the outside world alongside road safety and looking out for dangers. We would like to encourage parents to leave buggies at home and get your walking shoes on!

We would also like to welcome Sheerese, Anyu and Akshaj into our room!

Your mission this month is to: - Take a picture of how you and your child come to nursery. We will talk about them at group times and make a lovely display with them. You can bring them in or email them to us!

Dates and notes: We would like to wish Amelia a happy 2nd birthday on 19th June and Micah a happy 3rd birthday on 28th June. We would also like to wish Archie and Micah the best as they move up to Freedom Zone this month.

News from – Amy and Holly, Viviana, Pauline and Danielle, Kulwinder, Hannah and Sam: Topic for the month is transport and we shall be exploring different modes of transport across the world. During our group times and activities times we will be looking at and discussing the differences between transport in the UK and the rest of the world, the noises they make and their names. We will be making models of our favourite transport, drawing them, labelling them, counting them and observing them to cover all the areas of development.

As we are approaching summer, we would ask parents to provide sun cream, if they wish, clearly labelled along with a sun hat that is also labelled. If you also have any junk modelling materials at home, for example kitchen roll tubes or cardboard boxes, (no toilet roll tubes) we would kindly receive them.

Reminder to parents to label all items of clothing to avoid confusion!

Your mission this month is to: - Bring in your child’s favourite transport toy (labelled) so we can look at them and talk about them in our circle and group times.
