Medication in children bags: Please do not leave Calpol, Inhalers or any other form of medication in your child’s bag. Children have free access to their bags and if you have not informed us of medication, we will have no need to look inside them.
Please do not send in toys from home: We are not responsible for toys from home. If they go missing while at the setting, we cannot be held accountable for this. Avoid bringing toys in as they cause more upset when they go missing or have to remain in the child’s bag. If you use them to get them out of the house, please take them away with you when you drop off. Regular comforters are fine such as blankets but they must be small and fit in a bag!
We are looking for staff members to join our team: Do you know anyone who holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare and is looking for a job? Do you know anyone who is looking for some flexible working hours to help us out with covering different shifts? Do you know anyone who maybe wanting to start an apprenticeship in childcare care? If you do get them to send us an email: info@harvardparkdaynursery.com or call us on 0208 890 3175

Health and Safety:
Birthdays for the month of January:
Wash and sterilise all cups and bottles when they come home with your child. We only rinse them here and the setting and over time residue can build up in straws and spouts. This can then cause mould which isn't very nice. Please make sure you take your bottles a part and clean them thoroughly.
Small Steps: Happy 2nd birthday to Aryan and Diyar! Freedom Zone: Happy 3rd Birthday to Carter, Leo, Nella and Kayla! Happy 4th Birthday to Aishlyn and Heidi! Staff: Happy birthday to Mary, Amanda and Justyna a very happy birthday for this month!

We will support this through 1 to 1 keyworker time and small group activities which promote sharing and turn taking. Reminders:
Please keep your babies nails as short as possible for their own safety as well as the safety of others. If you struggle to clip them, try when they are fresh out of the bath or while they are sleeping.
Please label all of your children’s belongings including bottles, coat and hats.
Where your child attends all day, please provide 2 bottles for milk times - 1 for the morning and 1 for the afternoon - thank you.

Send us some pictures for us to show the children of you and your family at the farm, zoo or if you have any pets at home! Notes from Freedom Zone: Cool Cats - Viviana, Charlotte, Sam, Sherry, Ellie, Nabila, Saptati , Katie, Michaela and Danielle: Focus: Physical development in addition to Mathematics Welcome back everyone, we all hope you feel relaxed, rested and ready for a new and exciting year full of new learning. We would like to start by welcoming Kiara, Aaron, Korou, Cody, Aroush, Ahana, Antonina and Franciszek! We would also like to officially welcome Katie and Michaela to our Freedom Zone team too. We would like to say a sad goodbye to Aishlyn and Vrinda who will be leaving us this month. We all know that 2021 was a bit stressful and a full on year. We are still living in a time where Covid is very much a part of our daily lives. But we can wish and hope for a year with less sickness and stress. If you need any support or advice, our Harvard Park team is here for you. For this month we will be working on the children’s self-help skills which applies to feeding themselves as well as dressing themselves such as after nappy change or for the garden. We would like you to work with us on this by encouraging these skills at home too! Alongside working on our physical development we will be looking at the world of maths which covers everything from counting to measurements of full and empty. Reminders:
We are setting all of you as parents a goal: Post on the EyLog at least once a month! It benefits your child’s development as we are then able to use the evidence and photo’s as markers to secure them in all the areas of development. It also makes a lovely memory when it comes to the end of your child’s time at Harvard park. Completing your set homework: We have set homework which runs for a period of 6 weeks to co-inside with your children’s targets at nursery. Please try your best to follow through with it as it helps them to move forward in their development and understanding of the world.
Please do not send in toys from home: We are not responsible for toys from home. If they go missing while at the setting, we cannot be held accountable for this. Avoid bringing toys in as they cause more upset when they go missing or have to remain in the child’s bag. If you use them to get them out of the house, we will ask you to take them asway with you when you drop off. Show and Tell: We will be a weekly show and tell session so children are able to share things from home. This we be the only exception where toys can come into nursery and we will inform you of the date via ParentMail.
The weather is changing - please make sure you are bringing in a coat/thick jacket, hat gloves and scarf set and sturdy shoes so we can continue to get our daily dose of fresh air. We do go out in all weathers unless deemed extreme.
If you need support with your child at home or outside the setting, please speak to your child’s keyworker and together we can come up with some targets or strategies to support you and your child at home.
Water bottles: Please feel free to bring in water bottles which will remain here for the week and be sent home with you on your child’s last weekly session. If you wish to take them home daily you can, children are offered water throughout the day regardless if they have a water bottle or not - some children just prefer a bottle to a cup.
Please send in pictures of your child’s home via the EyLog to help develop our home area. These photo’s will be used no where else and can be of somewhere like your kitchen or you garden. The staff will also be helping develop the area too.
