Harvard Park Day Nursery Feltham June Newsletter 2014. News from the Managers Nicki and Tracey –

Important: If you have received your nursery/reception places and have accepted them please let us know of your leaving date as soon as possible please. We are sad to say another goodbye to a member of staff this month, as Alia will be leaving us on the 11th of June. We wish her all the best for the future. Thank you to all parents who have donated items such as clothes and toys to us we are very grateful. Unfortunately we are still in need of socks/pants/knickers, children’s books, newspapers, old magazines and kitchen roll tubes. If you have any of these lying around the house we would be even more grateful to receive them. The children had an emergency fire alarm on Friday 30 th May in the early hours of the morning. The practices have paid off, the children were very well behaved and listened to their teachers well and we would like to say well done to them and our team for being so professional and getting everyone out safely!

News from Deputy Carol- Please let us know about whether your child is staying with us or

moving on. A reminder that the group nursery photo shot will be on Monday 2nd June. A reminder will be on facebook and in the lobby so please be vigilant. For our Freedom Zone leavers, we will be having a concert however it will only be available to view on DVD as it puts too much pressure on the children when parents and carers come to watch it live. From previous experiences, our 2 year olds are unable to maintain attention for a lengthy period of time so they won’t be involved but will have the opportunity to sing with their friends on another day. More details will follow in next month’s newsletter.

Please remember Sign your child in and out every day! This is a document we use in an emergency so it is important to sign your child both in and out. Please provide labelled sunhats and sun cream for the hot weather Thank you. Our theme for this month is ‘All about me’ alongside continuing working on physical development. Our physical activities are based around those who are learning to walk or crawl and helping those develop skills such as balancing and running who are able to confidently walk. ‘All about me’ is focusing on us and our families. We will be encouraging our ducklings to engage in activities such as painting their hands and feet to explore their sense, looking in mirrors at our facial expressions and features, and through song, looking at our body parts to develop our expressive skills. Well done to all our parents who have sent in pictures for your child’s family trees. They are available for you to look at if you wish to do so. Where possible, could you send some pictures of child’s relatives too, as we will be looking at them for our all about me theme. Ducklings love to look at pictures and helps develop their language and communication skills.
