Harvard Park Pre-School Isleworth: June Newsletter 2018 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey We would like to start by saying a big hello to some of our new parents who have joined us recently. Please make a note of the weather before you leave to come to pre-school. Please dress them as appropriately as you can, including applying sun cream when necessary. We would like to wish Angela a happy birthday for this month. We are currently looking at filling Amy’s position but while we do, you may see two new faces. Natalie will still remain there to support, Amy S, Viviana from Day nursery and Carol will be also helping out. If you have any questions, queries or worries, please speak to one of them when they are over. Nicki and Tracey will also be over too.
Thursday 14th June: Wear Sport’s wear!
Sport’s week will be happening for the whole nursery the week of the 11 th. On Thursday, please dress your child in sport’s wear to help celebrate the start of the World Cup being held in Russia! This can be a football kit, trainers and shorts or even a rugby shirt! We will also be holding our Father’s Parent in Partnership on this day too! There will be a session at 11:00am and one at 3:00 pm! Come on in and join the fun.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic week: 25th June onwards
Please make sure your child brings in a teddy from home and join us as we enter the wonderful world of Teddies! We will be planning activities for all rooms and everyone will get a chance to participate. We have done these ever since Harvard Park started and our children love it at this time of year!
Itinerary
Please find attached copy of things that will be happening until the end of July. Please be aware that some events may be subject to change and we will also inform you of these as and when they are due to happen. We are currently in the process of setting up a Whatsapp account which will be a no-reply messaging service to give you updates. Please bear with us as we are having a couple of technical issues.
Fruit and Vegetable donations:
Please can we remind you to provide a bag of fruit each week! It is a great help and the children love tasting and trying different fruits and vegetables. Please remember to bring in some fruit and Vegetables every week for our children to have snack with. Some weeks we are running low and it is a great opportunity for the children to try a range of fruits and vegetables.
Have you heard from you school choices?
If your child is due to go to school in September, you should have heard from where they will be going to. As soon as you know please make us aware as we will be starting to get some things ready for the school transitions. For your child’s last day at pre-school please see our attached itinerary. Please inform us of your decision to stay or leave, we have a few blank spaces where we are not sure if you are staying or going.
Health and Safety:
There are a couple of this we need to address: - Please can we request that you do not send your child in open toed shoes or flip flops. We had an accident recently which resulted in a very sore toe. We cannot stop children from running, tripping or dropping things on their feet. Closed in shoes will prevent this from happening. - Sun hat: please provide a sun hat for your child. We do not have enough spares to share out. Please ensure their name is written inside so these do not go missing. -Please remember when you enter the building, your child is now your responsibility. Please make sure you are aware of where they are at all times. Please do not let them run away from you whilst outside. We have no control over the gate being locked at this time.
If you are on Facebook, we do have a Facebook page which gives you updates, notices and also an insight into both our settings and what special activities we get up to. Simply type in Harvard Park Day nursery and Pre-school in the search bar and look for our logo. You can also
leave a review here too. Please look out for EY log emails and if you have any questions regarding this, please come and see Amy, Natalie or Amy S. News from Natalie, Jeanna, Lacey, Eva, Emma, Megan, Angela, Hina and Charlotte: Topic: Mini beasts and growing We will be spending lots of time outdoors, exploring the areas around us and learning about growing and mini beasts. We have quite a few children who already have a strong interest in this so it will be exciting for everyone. We will be providing activities such as mark making and observational drawing, looking at patterns and numbers such as number of legs or spots, we will be getting creative with some junk modelling and we will also be learning lots of new language.
-
Home Mission: Be more active on your EyLogs! If you are waiting for an activation email, please check your junk. It will not come from nursery it will come from the EyLog company. Thank you to Ronnie, Alex, Ariana, Ella, Yahya, Mia and Alfie’s mum for giving us regular updates about what you do outside of nursery! The children really enjoy looking at them and sharing experiences with friends. Birthdays and Important dates: We would like to wish Ronnie a happy 3rd birthday for the 13th, Momtaz on the 27th and Naya on the 24th. We would also like to wish Angela a happy birthday for the 6th. We hope you all have lovely days!
Important reminders: Parents in Partnership: Father’s parents in partnership: Thursday 14th June – 11:00am or 3:00pm. Please see Megan to confirm your attendance.
-
Helpful dates: Please read the attached itinerary for important dates up until the end of term. Please be aware we are more than likely going to be swapping some days around to suit the parties and which one your child will be attending.
-
Sun cream: If your child does full days (even if it is two) please supply a bottle of sun cream for your child. We will label it and return it to you at the end of the week. If your child does a morning or afternoon session, please apply some before you come to the setting! We will be going out and about much more making use of the vitamin D from the sun.
-
Labelling bags: Please can you label your child’s bag with their initials. Children will ultimately own the same bag at some point during their time at nursery. We understand our coat area is small however there is nothing we can do about this. Please write you child’s initials on their bag so that we can easily identify them and not put wrong belongings into the wrong bags. Thank You.
We would like to say happy father’s day to all the special men in our lives whether they be dads, grandfathers, uncles or brothers! We hope you have a lovely relaxing day for Sunday 17th June!
