Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: June Newsletter 2015 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie – We would like by saying that Danielle is now officially on maternity leave. We wish her and her family the best of luck and can’t wait to see the baby! A big thank you to all of those parents who came to our teacher / parent consultation day, it was lovely to see you and we hope you were pleased with your folders and your child’s progress. You need to let us know whether you have accepted your places at school or nursery. You are more than welcome to stay with us if your child is 3 or younger, but again you need to let us know of your decision. If you have also read your child’s report from us, please could you comment and sign it so we can photo copy one as we need it for our records. You will also be able to keep a copy yourself. We are not receiving enough fruit or veg for your children at snack time  we do ask for a donation of at least one piece of fruit from each child for their snack and to share with others. Please apply sun cream to your child before they start their session. We do have some here however it is in short supply. We do spend a lot of time outside so could you please bring in a sun hate with your child’s name. You may have been informed that your child is entitled to a free Bookstart treasure bag. Please bring in you red book so that we can sign it off and give you one of these extra special bags! Rashid, Josephine, Anotnia, James, Oliver, Jayden, Dian, Austin, Jaden, Samira, Summer, Inaya, Jojo Janaye and Javon; you are all entitled to one so please bring in those red books! The week of Monday 6th July, will be the week where you receive your child’s learning journals if they are heading off to school or nursery. Our practitioners have been working very hard on these over your child’s time at nursery. Unfortunately due to ratios and our numbers, this will be a brief handover of their journal along with artwork and things from around the room, either at drop off time of pick up.

News from Natalie, Danielle, Dee, Seema, Rosa, Jeanna, Marilyn, Sian, Lacey, Amy and Anusha: Our theme for this month will be all about the people who help us. We will be exploring the idea of different occupations using props and dressing up outfits to aid our children’s learning and imagination; creating our own emergency vehicles when junk modelling and during creative activities; looking at how different people can help us and what makes them different from each other and trying to spot emergency vehicles or people who help us on our way to preschool or at preschool. Please send in family photos. Some of our family trees are looking a t little bit bare. You can send them via email and we will print them, or bring in the originals and we will scan them and give the originals back to you. It is an important part of their learning so please send us some! If we are not receiving them, we will have to start taking photo’s at pick up or drop off times. Make sure you are checking tables for artwork which is being sent home, of the next 2 months, there will be lot coming home as we are preparing for the end of the school year. We will also start talking about our new schools and starting the transition process for their move to school/nursery.

Please remember that Amy is holding her parents phonic session on Monday 15 th June at 11:00am, please let us know if you are coming to this! It would be great to see you there so you can see how your child learns phonics which leads on to reading. Mission of the month: - Practice singing songs at home! We are preparing for our leavers concert so to prepare your child, encourage them to sing in front of family or friends to develop their self-confidence. Just a few notes to start off the month of June:• Please it is very important that your child does not bring anything containing NUTS into the pre-school setting as we do have children and staff who have a NUT ALLERGY!!!  • Please start labelling your child’s clothing especially hats, coats and gloves as we are having trouble with some children wearing the same colour and the same type of coats. If you would like us to do so, simply say. • If you have borrowed clothes from the pre-school please could you return them? We are running very low on girls trousers and if we have nothing to change your child into, we will have to ring you to come and pick them up from the setting. Same with wellington boots, if you have borrowed them please return them ASAP, thank you. Please make sure you have as sufficient amount of clothes so that we are able to change your child especially if they are potty training. Big well done to all your parents who have been encouraging either walking or riding to preschool! Less buggies are better for us as we have lack of storage as you can see. To avoid upset or confusion everything should be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Also remember once you collect your child from their groups, they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!! We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Marilyn, Rosa, Alyanna, Inaya, Lily B, Dwayne, Jayden, Malakai and Sam for the month of June. We hope you have a lovely day! Please could parents/carers bring in fruit so we can share it during our snack time? You are doing great so keep it up!  Please avoid kiwis as we have a child who has an allergy, thank you!

We have noticed that some parents are still parking next to parked cars outside the school gates - please do not do this! PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING THE STAFF CAR PARK AT ANYTIME EVEN IF THE BARRIER IS UP AS THEY DO HAVE CAMERAS AND HARVARD PARK DO GET INTO TROUBLE IF OUR PARENTS ARE SEEN DRIVING IN. THANK YOU. Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our newsletters on our new site to save our trees! Just type in Harvard Park Pre-school and Day Nursery into your search engine (i.e. Google) and we should pop up! We regularly update this page with pictures, messages and notices. We will of course print off a few copies for those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our Parents Table.
