Harvard Park Pre-School Isleworth: June Newsletter 2019 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie We would like to start by saying thank you to all of those parents who have been joining in with our parent in partnership sessions. It is great to see such lovely turn outs. Sadly, we had to unexpectedly say goodbye to Nida during the month of May. We will continue to look for her replacement but up until then, Natalie and the practitioners have shared out her key children among themselves so just ask if you are unsure of who your child’s new keyworker is. We would like to say congratulations to Natalie on her marriage which happened at the end of May – you looked beautiful and we wish you the best of luck for the future! We are currently recruiting for a couple of positions over in our Feltham branch, so if you know anyone looking for a job and has a qualification in childcare, pass on our email address and get them to send in their CV’s : info@harvardparkdaynursery.co.uk. Change to the last day of term in July: We previously stated the the last day for pre-school would be on Friday 19 th July. However we have had to change this and the last day of term will now be on the Thursday 18 th July (leaver party day). Closer to the time we will make arrangments for you children to come in on different days. Please bear with us while we work it all out. Sport’s week: Monday 10th – Friday 14th: The week of the 10 we will be having a range of activities going on in all rooms to promote healthy eating and postive well-being. The pracitioners will be planning lots of outings to the park and around our local area so please make sure all children have safe closed shoes such as trainers so they can participate. We will also be having a father’s day parents in partnership this week but the date is yet to be confirmed. We will invite you along closer to the date. th
Health and Safety issue – Summer Clothing As the weather is getting warmer, we have been advised by outside agencies to inform you of our expectations for summer clothing in order to protect your children from sun damage. We will ask you to provide other form of clothing if your child comes in, in any of these and we may even ask you to return home and change. Please make sure you are providing a jumper or cardigan for you children as well as a sun hat and a bottle of sun cream. The shoulders are the most delicate part of the body’s skin on all children and will burn when exposed to the sun for too long. Sun-cream forms a barrier but does not fully protect them from the damage sun can do. Please be aware of our expectations when dressing your children in the mornings or afternoons. Kind reminder: Activities are children’s choices While at Harvard Park we aim to celebrate lots of different festivals and provide an extensive range of activity for children to engage in on a daily basis. However, we do not force a child to engage in or complete an activity which they do not wish to part take in. We promote equality through play and this is reflected in your child’s learning journals on a regular basis. We treat all individuals as that and we will never force a child to do something they do not wish to do. This maybe why your child comes home with less art work then others, we encourage but we do not force them – we hope you understand this and we thank you for your time in reading this.
