News from the Managers Nicki and Tracey –

We would like to wish all the mothers, grandmothers and aunties a very happy mother’s day for this month and hope that it is joyous for you. Big well done to all your parents who have been encouraging either walking or riding to pre-school! Buggies must be folded up and put in the correct place; 3 or 4 years olds should not be coming in buggies. Their physical development will suffer as a result of this and if any 3 or 4 year olds come to the setting in a buggy, they will be asked to take them back with them. Can we please ask parents to make sure that their contact details are all correct including phone numbers, email addresses and home addresses? There are a few occasions where we have been unable to contact parents due to wrong contact details. Thank You.

News from Deputy Carol- Well done to all those parents who have brought in their all

about me boxes they are looking wonderful and the children have begun to use them with their peers. Any parent that haven’t yet got round to doing this, please do so.

Just a reminder to parents to please bring in/ email family pictures for our family trees in our learning journals, we are happy to scan originals so that you are able to keep them.

News from Baby Studio –Sana, Mary, Gurpreet, Sneha, Diluni, Nabila and Megan (who will also be covering in other rooms):

We would like to start by welcoming Teryl and Sophia into Baby studio and saying a sad goodbye to Kayden who has moved up to Small steps, we know you will have lots of fun!

This month’s topic is ‘animals’ and each week we will be looking at a different category i.e.; wild animals, farm animals, sea life and pets. We will be focusing on the names of the animals to develop your child’s language, they noises that they make to develop their ability to distinguish between sounds and where these animals live developing the understanding of the world.

Just a reminder to parents to please bring in/ email family pictures for our family tree’s in our learning journals as well as their puppets. We would also like a new born picture of your child for our Special delivery board if you haven’t already done so.

We will be celebrating world book day on Thursday 6 th March so please dress your child as their favourite book character and bring in a clearly labelled book for us to read at group time. We will also be doing lots of fun for Mothers day on the 30 th March.

Your mission this month is to: - Bring in family photos for your child’s learning journals and puppets.

Dates and notes: - We would like to wish a happy 1st birthday to Dorcas on the 9th and Saanvi on the 17th of this month.

Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our news letters on our new site to save our trees! We will of course print of a few copies to those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our parents table. .

News from Bunnies –Gemma, Chelsea (who is covering Gulcan’s maternity leave), Hannah, Alia and Ambreen:

Firstly we would like to welcome Kayden, Sahala, Alvin and Tyler in our room. We will be investigating and exploring the topic of animals, and we will be looking at 4 different kinds of animals; wild, domestic or pets, farm, and pre-historic. We will be talking about where these animals live and what kind of food they eat. Small steps will also be taking trips out to the Pet shop to look at all the different types of animals we can have in our homes.

We will be exploring this topic by doing many activities such as animals footprint painting- to see the patterns and differences in animals footprints as well as the size of them; reading and acting out familiar stories that include animals such as We are going on a bear hunt and Little rabbit foo foo to extend your child’s knowledge of literacy and rhythm; small world play with the farm and creating our own zoo to help develop your child’s knowledge of the world they live in.

Your mission this month is to: - If you or a family member has any pets please could you bring in a photo of them. Similarly if you have visited another country, zoo or farm and have had photos taken with the animals.

Dates and notes: We would like to wish a happy 2nd birthday to Kristopher on the 2nd of this month. Also a happy 3rd birthday to Noah on the 17th and Jasroop on the 22nd. A final happy birthday goes to Ambreen who is celebrating on the 23 rd.

Don’t forget to dress up on Thursday 6th March as your favourite book character.

News from –Amy and Holly, Viviana, Pauline and Danielle, Kulwinder, Sonia and Sam: Hi! We would like to start by saying happy mother’s day to all our mummies, aunties and nannies, hope you get spoilt rotten. Just a quick reminder, don’t forget to dress up on Thursday 6th March as your favourite book character.

Our topic for this month is Animals. From this will we be exploring and investigating 4 areas of animals; farm, wild, domestic (pets) and Pre-historic. It would be great if you could send us an email of or bring in a picture of your pets at home as a discussion point for our circle times. We will also be exploring our positional language as well as size, talking about which animals are bigger or smaller, who has bigger prints and so forth. We will also be looking at books and doing lots of mark making to extend our physical development and also our literacy skills. Freedom zone would also like to say well done to all parents who have brought in the all about me boxes and remind parents who haven’t. The children have started to investigate their peer’s boxes and are asking for their own! Please feel free to ask your key workers if you cannot remember what these are or to see an example.

Your mission this month is to: - Bring in a labelled book for world book day as well as dress up. Also to look at the different animals you see on your way to nursery!
