We would also like to apologise if you were uniformed about dressing up for World Book Day, please regularly check your emails and Facebook for regular updates. News from Natalie, Danielle, Dee, Eva, Parul, Jeanna, Marilyn, Lacey, Amy, Anusha and Mandy: We would like to say a big thank you to all of those who have sent in their family photos, the children have loved looking at others families as well as their own. If you haven’t done so, please send yours in. We also have another request. If you have any small plastic plant pots or old yoghurt pots, please bring them in. We are looking at doing some planting and growing this month and we need pots! Any size or shape will do, we would be very grateful.
Our theme for this month will be all Transport and Road safety. We will be looking at the zebra crossing in the car park and using this to teach our children about how to be safe near roads. For those older children, we will be taking trips up to Tesco and using that Zebra crossing to teach them further. Please encourage your children to use the car park Zebra crossing when entering and leaving pre-school. With regards to transport, we will be looking at all different modes of transports and where we use them. We will be creating our own from junk modelling, using role play with our small world cars and using bikes and scooters in the garden to learn about traffic lights. During our sessions, we have lots of focus groups going on; all of which the children are involved in. These focus groups will also be looking at being safe near roads and transport to support their learning and development further. Please ask your key worker for some wow stickers so you can document their learning at home! OUR EASTER COMPETITION: We would like you and your child to create anything for our Easter completion. It could be an Easter bonnet, an Easter scene or simply drawing their own Easter eggs. Please submit your entries between Monday 7th March and Friday 18th March. They will be displayed for a little while so they can act as a talking point for our children. We also have Book bags which are still available to purchase. These are at a price of £5 and are yours to keep forever. Children are able to choose books from our library and take them home to read with you or other family. They have proven to be very effective in all aspects of learning, so we encourage you to purchase one if you haven’t yet. Please could parents/carers bring in sealed fruit so we can share it during our snack time? You are doing great so keep it up! Please avoid kiwis as we have a child who has an allergy, thank you! Mission of the month: - Label all of your child’s belongings. Children often have the same clothes which are the same size, same with bags and coats. Please label them clearly to avoid any confusion or upset. Just a few notes to start off the month of January:• Please it is very important that your child does not bring anything containing NUTS into the pre-school setting as we do have children and staff who have a NUT ALLERGY!!! • Please start labelling your child’s clothing especially hats, coats and gloves as we are having trouble with some children wearing the same colour and the same type of coats. If you would like us to do so, simply say. • If you have borrowed clothes from the pre-school please could you return them? We are running very low on girls trousers and if we have nothing to change your child into, we will have to ring you to come and pick them up from the setting. Same with wellington boots, if you have borrowed them please return them ASAP, thank you. Please make sure you have as sufficient amount of clothes so that we are able to change your child especially if they are potty training. Please remember once you collect your child from their groups, they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!!
