Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: May Newsletter 2016 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie:To all of our new parents, welcome to our Harvard Park family! This is our monthly newsletter which you can read 3 ways. We will have a few paper copies available in the setting or by request, they will be on our Facebook page and we will also email them to you. The newsletter does contain important information so please read them as often as you can. Due to a new health and safety policy, if and when you bring a water bottle in, these now need to be washed at home and taken home every night. It is to prevent illnesses and cross infection. We do have a water station which children are able to access at all times, so if they are able to drink out a cup you can always leave the bottle at home. Our fundraising: Our fundraiser will also being happening at the end of this month. If you have seen the posters (apologies for the spelling mistake), these are what we will be selling. They are beautifully made by your child and each one is individual and unique. We are able to make multiple copies but please inform us asap. You may have to wait for these but we are able to make them. We will also be holding a cake sale so please show your support by baking and buying some cakes or treats. Please donate your cakes by Monday 23rd May and we will start the fundraising on Tuesday 24th May! If you have any ideas or suggestions for new equipment and learning resources we would love to hear your ideas. Come and see us in the office
Teddy Bears picnic will also be happening during Tuesday 17 th – Friday 20th May. Please make sure you child brings in a teddy and we can label it here. They are able to stay with us over night. Please see your copy of the itinerary for more information. Please could we ask that you phone ahead if you child will not be attending their sessions and please state why i.e. sickness or holiday. Thank You, we are currently having children with a lot of time off and if there is no explanation as to why we, we have to inform the borough. Please be aware that will be closed from Monday 30 th May – Friday 3rd June due to half term. We will return on Tuesday 7th June 2016. th Monday 6 June we are closed for Parent teacher consultations. Please make your appointment with your key workers. This maybe the last time you get a chance to fully discuss your child’s development with us if you are leaving us this year. Children can attend the appointment with you but there will be no sessions on this day. Take the time to label your child’s clothes! We cannot be held responsible if items that are unnamed go missing. Children do end up with same clothes, bottles coats etc. And with 70 children on our registers it is hard to remember who has what. Thank you. Our resident photographer will be doing our summer shots in May, keep your eyes peeled for posters and notifications. She is due on Monday 16th May. As and when you find out about your child’s nursery placement or reception places please let us know.
News from Natalie, Danielle, Dee, Eva, Parul, Jeanna, Marilyn, Lacey, Amy, Anusha and Mandy: Our theme for this month will be all about mini-beasts and growing. Please can you start collecting egg cartons and bottle tops so we are able to make some very special mini-beasts of our own. Once you have a few just bring them in. We will be doing a range of activities such as mini-
beasts hunts in our musical garden, creating our own mini-beasts with junk modelling and learning how we can use our bodies to move like mini-beats such as crawling and slithering. Language stickers: Please approach your key worker and ask for some of our stickers so you are able to let us know what you child can say and do at home. This all works to our parents in partnership and also make your child’s folder look full and wonderful. It also helps us get an insight into how well your child takes on the information from the topics we provide, to help us evaluate them and see if they are worth continuing next year. Please could parents/carers bring in sealed fruit so we can share it during our snack time? You are doing great so keep it up! Remember they can be exotic or cultural! Mission of the month: - See what you can spot on your way to preschool. Note down anything you see such as bee’s, butterflies, ladybirds etc. And let us know when you get here! Just a few notes to start off the month of May:• Please it is very important that your child does not bring anything containing NUTS into the pre-school setting as we do have children and staff who have a NUT ALLERGY!!! • If you have borrowed clothes from the pre-school please could you return them? We are running very low on all of our clothes especially underwear. If we are unable to change you child due to lack of clothes or if you have not provided spares, we will have to call you to come and collect them. • Please collect your child’s belongings before coming to retrieve them from their group times. We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Finley-Jack, Stivan, Tracey, Amy and Dee! We hope you all have lovely days! We have noticed that some parents are still parking next to parked cars outside the school gates please do not do this! please refrain from using the staff car park at any time even if the barrier is up as they do have cameras and Harvard park do get into trouble if our parents are seen driving in. Thank you. Please remember once you collect your child from their groups, they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!!
Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our newsletters on our new site to save our trees!
