Harvard Park Pre-School Isleworth: May Newsletter 2018 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Amy We would like to start by saying a big hello to some of our new parents who have joined us recently. Please make a note of the weather before you leave to come to pre-school. Please dress them as appropriately as you can, including applying sun cream when necessary. We would like to wish Tracey, Amy and Frank a happy birthday for this month. We would also like to congratulate Tracey on becoming a Nan as her daughter had her baby on the 2nd of May (Tracey’s birthday). We have a sad goodbye to say We will be saying goodbye to our deputy manager Amy at the end of this month. She has been with us for nearly 10 years and it is a great sadness to us that she will be moving on to pastures new. Her last day with us will be Friday 25th May.
Closure Dates:
We will be closed on Monday 7th May due to a bank holiday. We will also be closed from Monday 28th May – Friday 1st June for half term. We will return to pre-school on Monday 4th June at the normal time of 8:00 am.
Labelling clothes and Potty Training:
Please label their coat, school bag and any belongings they may have in there. If your child is in nappies or potty training, please make sure you are supplying enough changes of clothes and a sufficient amount on nappies, pull ups or wipes as we do not have many spares. If your child is changed at pre-school and put in pre-school clothes, please make sure you are returning them to us. Thank you
2 year Checks:
Is your child 2 or 2 and a half years of age? If you are, it’s time for your 2 year old check with your health visitor. They are good for general check-ups, hearing tests and for you to voice any concerns you may have. Once you have them done, please bring in their red books so we can photocopy their 2 year old page. For us, they are a legal requirement so please help us and bring your red books in!
Fruit and Vegetable donations:
Thank you to those of you who are bringing things in every week! It is a great help and the children love tasting and trying different fruits and vegetables. Please remember to bring in some fruit and Vegetables every week for our children to have snack with. Some weeks we are running low and it is a great opportunity for the children to try a range of fruits and vegetables.
Have you heard from you school choices?
If your child is due to go to school in September, you should have heard from where they will be going to. As soon as you know please make us aware as we will be starting to get some things ready for the school transitions. Our last day at pre-school will be Friday 20th July. Please remember if you are applying for school nursery, the application closing date is Friday 4 th May. You will need to download the online form and apply to the school directly.
Photo Day: Wednesday 16th May for everyone!
This will include children’s single shots, graduation photo and group photo. If this is not your child’s day, please arrange a time with management to be able to bring your child in. If you want them in a different outfit, please bring this in and we will change them, so they do not get dirty. If you would like more information, please speak to one of the management team.
Two celebrations in one: 25th Birthday and royal wedding – Friday 18th May
This year Harvard Park Pre-School turned 25 years old. We are also having a royal wedding of Prince Harry and Megan. To celebrate these, we are going to have a party! We encourage your children to dress in red white or blue and we will hold a tea party snack time to celebrate these two great occasions. The practitioners will plan lots of activities and games for the children to join in with!
Thank You:
We have a few thank you’s to say for this month, firstly to Jeanna’s sister for the cake donations on our cake bake. They were all homemade, delicious and sold very quickly so thank you. We would like to say thank you to Hina who donated a few old toys to us like a tea set, the children will love it so thank you. And lastly, thank you to all of you who supported us during our fund raising for the setting. We managed to raise just under £450 which is a big help in working towards purchasing new equipment. Keep an eye out on Facebook for an update of what we purchase.
