Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: May Newsletter 2015 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie – We would like to start by officially welcoming Sian, Lacey, Amy and Dee to our Harvard Park team! And please remember Monday 4th May is a bank holiday so we will be closed. We would like to say a massive thank you to Romeo and his family for taking on Turbo and giving him a loving home  We would also like to say a sad goodbye to Diluni who will be leaving us during this month. We need to address a health and safety issue regarding footwear. Please DO NOT send you child in open toed sandals. We know the weather is changing and getting nicer but jelly shoes or crocs are a much better and safer option. Over the last couple of weeks we have had a few accidents which involved open toed sandals and it is one that can be prevented. At some point this month, your key worker will be giving reports to you on your child’s development here at the pre-school. When you have read and signed them, please return them as soon as possible so we can photocopy them and give them back to you. If you do have any concerns or want to know more about the reports, please make an appointment with your keyworker so that it does not disrupt the rest of the session by taking a member of staff out of our ratios. A reminder for Monday 1st June: we will be closed for parent consultation meetings so if you want to book appointments please do so. Breakfast time will now be finishing at 8:30am on the dot as we are now going into group times after to extend their learning further. We will also be starting our focus groups and key working groups at this time. If this will cause a problem please approach Natalie to discuss it with her. Please let us know ASAP if you have found out where your child will be going in September, if your child is going to be staying with us for another year please let us know too.

News from Natalie, Danielle, Dee, Seema, Diluni, Rosa, Jeanna, Marilyn, Sian, Lacey, Amy and Anusha: Our theme for this will be continuing with all about me and what I can do. Some of our children are getting a little bit upset at the fact they do not have all about me boxes. Most of our children have one and we use them on a daily basis to talk about our favourite things or our families which may be present through items or photographs in the box. Please ask you key worker if you are unsure of what needs to go in them but we would really like every child to have one so they do not feel left out. Thank You  We will be looking at ourselves and our abilities as well as our progress since we have been at preschool. We will be looking at our learning journals and seeing what we can do and discovering all the things which distinguish us from others such as our cultural backgrounds and our favourite things to do. We would like it if parents also got involved by telling your child’s keyworker things they can do at home such as walking up and down the stairs or how many lengths they can swim in the pool. Your keyworker will provide you with white sticky labels for you to jot down a few things your have been up to at the weekend, during the week or even in the evenings. This can be as simple as any new words your child presents to you or something that they have never done before. Similarly if it is easier, you can send them via email which will be passed onto their key workers for their folders 
