If you have yet to have a turn don’t worry, your turn is coming! We would also like to say happy birthday to Tracey for this month, we hope you have a lovely day! We are currently recruiting for a couple of positions over in our Feltham branch, so if you know anyone looking for a job and has a qualification in childcare, pass on our email address and get them to send in their CV’s : info@harvardparkdaynursery.co.uk.

Term dates

Monday 6 May we will be CLOSED due to it being a bank holiday. On Friday 24th May we will be closing at 3:30pm as the school is having an inset day. Please be prompt when picking up at 3:20pm. We will be closed for the Half term from Monday 27th May – Friday 31st May. We are back to pre-school on Monday 1st June. th

Photo day: Wednesday 8th May

If this is not your child’s day, please speak to Natalie to book in a time to come and see us to have it taken. Our photographer will be in in the morning and in the early afternoon. If your child is having a graduation photo, please do not put their hair up as the graduation cap will not fit. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask us.

Health and Safety - No phones in the setting

Please may we remind you that we kindly ask you to not use your phone while you are in the setting. This includes taking phone calls. It is a child protection issue and may we please remind you that taking photos from the window outside is also not allowed.

Health and Safety issue – Requests Please do not bring your child in jewellery such as bracelets or necklaces that have not been agreed in your contracts. We are not responsible for this going missing or if your child takes it off. Due to health and saftey they should not be wearing any form of jewellery unless this has been agreed. As the warmer weather is coming please do not send your child in cros, flip flops or summer sandles – only filled summer shoes. It is a health and safety issue for your child so please do not send your child in these kinds of shoes. Thank You

Our Annual Teddy Bear’s picnic – 20th May and onwards

The week of the 20th we will be having our annual teddy bears picnic so we will be asking all of our parents to bring in a teddy bear from home. We will keep them onsite until the end of the week, unless your child wants to bring in a different teddy each day. Please be aware that this may change weather depending.

Please call if going to be absent, sick or away from the setting for appointments.

Please make sure you are informing us of when your child will be away from the setting. It goes down an unauthorised absence which we keep a track of. If your child is funded by the government please remember that absences longer than 2 weeks must be reported and your funding make stop. Just a text or email will do to tell us why you will not be attending pre-school.

Providing a sealed bag of fruit or vegetables once a week:

Just a little reminder to provide one sealed bag of fruit or vegetables a week as stated in your signed contracts. Thank you to those of you who regularly do this however we are running a little low from everyone else who doesn’t contribute.

A note to all parents whose children are in nappies:

Please can you make sure you are supplying wipes in your child’s bags. We only keep a handful of packs onsite and we are going through them at a ridiculous rate as parents are not supplying wipes. If this continues, we will begin to charge for them as this is something you should be providing on a sessional basis.

News from Jeanna, Lacey, Eva, Emma, Charlotte, Asma, Nida and Sima: Topic: Animals! Our topic for this month is something that all the children are enjoying at the moment – Animals. All of our children are showing a strong interest in this topic so it has come at the right time. We are going to continue with this topic and add mathematics into it as well as we feel the children will benefit from this a lot. Throughout the month we will be looking at activities such as habitats and textures, patterns and prints, numbers and shapes as well as creating movements to represent animals. There are so many planned activities it is hard to list them all! All children will be encouraged to engage in mark making activities so make sure you are checking with practitioners to see if your child has some bits to take home. Reminder: Monday 6th May we will be CLOSED due to it being a bank holiday. On Friday 24th May we will be closing at 3:30pm as the school is having an inset day. Please be prompt when picking up at 3:20pm. We will be closed for the Half term from Monday 27th May – Friday 31st May. We are back to pre-school on Monday 1st June.

Home Mission: Extend your child’s learning outside of the setting by recognising their interests and adding in mathematical language to support learning. For some it may be more or less, for others it maybe introducing maths problems such as adding or subtracting. Birthdays and Important dates: We would like to wish a happy birthday to Charlie, Jayden, Mehdi and Phoebe who will be 3 this month! We would like to wish Zahra, Hamza very happy 4th Birthday for this month. We hope you all have lovely days! Parents in Partnership: TBC Parents will be invited in within the first two weeks of May by Nida.

Important reminders: Please remember to sign your children in and out on a daily basis. We use this

signing in and out sheet in an emergency evacuation. Please ensure you are using this daily.

Reading Book Bags for sale: We have a library which we allow you to borrow books from

when you have a reading bag. They are yours to keep and cost £5. You are given full access to the library and also get a reading record where you can record what books you have taken and read as well as how your children reacted to them. Please see a member of staff for more details. 

Labelling clothes and belongings: We have marker pens available here for you to label things with. Please try to label as much as possible especially coats and accessories such as hats and gloves. It will prevent them from going missing or being taken home by someone who has the same set.

Please do NOT park in the car park. The school have said they noticed parents parking in there when they are not meant to. Please do not do this otherwise we will have to come and monitor the gates ourselves. Please leave the gates free so larger cars and minibuses can access the gate. Thank you.

Please turn over this page to see our Itinerary of what is to come from now up until the end of July!
