Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: October Newsletter 2016 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie – To all of our new parents, welcome to our Harvard Park family! This is our monthly newsletter which you can read 3 ways. We will have a few paper copies avalible in the setting, they will be on our Facebook page and we will also email them to you. The newsletters do contain important information so please read them as often as you can. AN IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL PARENTS AND CARERS: DO NOT park in the school car park! We know it is tempting to do so when the gates are open but please don’t. We would like to start by saying a sad goodbye to Marilyn who is moving over to the Feltham setting. Also we are going to be saying goodbye to Anusha at the end of this month too. We would like to thank them for all their hard work and dedication over the last few years. We will miss you! Well done to those of you who have created your all about me boxes, we love looking at them and sharing them during our rolling groups. If you still need to create on with your child please do so as soon as possible as they are starting to feel left out. Please check you emails and Whatsapp on a regular basis as we do use these as main forms of communication. Our musical garden is closed: Please do not let your children run around in the musical garden, we believe construction will be starting soon and it has been blocked off for a reason. Just a reminder about buggies and pushchairs. Where possible, 2 years olds can travel in an umbrella buggy but please take it with you as you leave. We no longer have a place to store these. If your child is 3 years or older, they should not really be travelling in the buggy as it will impact on their psychical development. You can always ride your scooter to us and park it in the scooter park. We are closed for Half term from Monday 24th October to Friday 28th October. We will return to preschool, normal hours on Monday 31 st October. We will also be having a Halloween party on Monday 31st October to help celebrate Halloween and Diwali. Please dress up in either a fancy dress outfit (avoid masks) of a sparkly party outfit, the choice is yours. If you have changed your contact details such as mobile numbers or have moved house, please come to the management desk and change the details we have so we can suitably contact you.

News from Natalie, Dee, Eva, Jeanna, Mandy, Lacey, Amy and Anusha: Thank you to those who have been bringing in fruit each week. Please ensure that it is sealed in its original packaging and it can as exotic as you like, but please avoid strawberries and pineapple as we do have some allergies to them. For the month of October we will be continuing with our theme of ‘sensory investigation and getting to know you’. We will be continuing with lots of different messy play activities as well as introducing our book of the month ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. This will help encourage children to explore new textures such as mud and fake snow as well as develop their language when describing different textures. For our older children, it will help with their rhyme and sense of rhythm as well as repetition and also introducing new words. Please can we remind you to label all of your child’s belongings especially coats, hats and scarves now the weather is starting to change? Where possible, can you also put your child’s name on their bottles, as our numbers are increasing children are starting to come in with the same bottles. Thank you 

If you have any old magazines, phone books or multi-cultural food packing, before you throw it out could we have it for our home corner? We are developing that area to represent our homes a little bit more. Any form of contribution would be great. Mission of the month: - On your way to or from pre-school collect some natural objects such as leaves, sticks or conkers to come and share with us at preschool. We can also use them to get creative with! Just a few notes to start off the month of September: Please start labelling your child’s clothing especially hats, coats and gloves as we are having trouble with some children wearing the same colour and the same type of coats. If you would like us to do so, simply say. To avoid upset or confusion everything should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.  If you have borrowed clothes from the pre-school please could you return them? We are running very low on girls trousers and if we have nothing to change your child into, we will have to ring you to come and pick them up from the setting. Same with wellington boots, if you have borrowed them please return them ASAP, thank you. Please make sure you have as sufficient amount of clothes so that we are able to change your child especially if they are potty training. Also remember once you collect your child from their groups, they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!! We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Oscar and Tanishka. We hope you have a lovely day! If we have missed out anyone who has just started with us we are sorry and hope you have a lovely day too.

This is a message from Smallberry Green School: DO NOT Park in front of or outside the school gates. You will get in trouble if they see you on their CCTV. Do not park inside the car park either; Harvard Park will get in trouble for this too. If the gate is open, the CCTV is still in operation and they will register your number plate, approaching you if you park in the car park. THANK YOU. Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our newsletters on our new site to save our trees! Just type in Harvard Park Pre-school and Day Nursery into your search engine (i.e. Google) and we should pop up! We regularly update this page with pictures, messages and notices. We will of course print off a few copies for those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our Parents Table.
