Notes from the management team: Have you downloaded the ParentMail and EyLog apps? They are both free to download and register with. It is important for your partnership with us to have these downloaded and accessible to receive notifications about your child’s learning as well as important notices such as closure dates and reminders. When you have a spare 5 minutes, please make sure your download them both and register yourselves. We will be chasing you up to make sure you have got both on your phones! Changes to drop off and pick up times: We will now be opening the door from 8:30 to 8:45 am in the morning and from 12:30—12:45 pm in the afternoon. Children are missing out on important learning opportunities when they arrive later. Children’s learning is also be disrupted at this time as staff are then taken out of ratio to monitor the door. Afternoon—early pick up: If you require an early pick up, we will be opening the door from 3:10—3:30 pm. If you are later than 3:30 pm, you will have to wait until 4:15 pm. Children’s learning is also be disrupted at this time as staff are then taken out of ratio to monitor the door. We have made these changes to tighten up our security at pick up and drop off times. You will be receiving a more in depth email shortly. Reminder about Charges coming into effect after the Easter holidays 2020: You should have all received a letter in regards to our charges which will be put into place after the Easter Holidays. Unfortunately, we will have to put in a small daily charge to cover consumables. If you did not receive a letter via email, ParentMail or by hand, Please come and see Natalie and she will give you one. We have a YouTube link we would like you to watch and will explain further why we need to put charges in place to ensure we continue to provide great care for our children. All charges will need to be paid in advance not in arrears. We thank you for your continued support and co-operation. Nursery school applications are now open until 1st May 2020. All Hounslow infant and primary schools (except Edison Primary and Nishkam School West London) have nursery classes. Practitioners have supplied most children with an end of year report. If you wish to discuss this further with your keyworker, please make an appointment when it suits the practitioner. We will not be able to discuss this at pick ups or drop offs. If your child started with us in the month of December, they were not eligible for one this time around.

Notes from Pre-School: Cool Cats Topic: Animals Our topic for this month is animals. Each week we will be looking at a different sub topic and habitats. Over the next month we will be looking at farm and pets, zoo’s, ocean’s and prehistoric animals. We will be planning activities which will look at each of these sub topics and will give children opportunities to engage in a range of activities aimed at developing language, looking at textures such as wet and dry, exploring small world and of course exploring different environments. Our group times will focus on stories and songs relating to our theme and will change as our sub topic changes, we will also be conducting activities such as animal printing to encourage looking at patterns and to encourage counting; texture play with textures such as mud, hay and water to develop language and introduce new words; and also exploring our outside environments to see what we can find.

We will also be making some Valentine’s gifts, so make sure you are checking our art tables for artwork to go home. Reminders: Keep an eye our for our Parents in Partnership: We will be sending out invites for our February Parents in Partnership session. Please confirm your attendance once you have received the invitation. Having trouble registering? If you are having trouble registering for the EyLog Learning journal service or our Parentmail Service, please come and speak to Natalie or Amy (on Tuesday) and they will help you register and check we have the correct details for you. Please bring in spare clothes and return our spares: Please bring spare clothes in for your child, especially socks! We have very low stock now as people are failing to return items they have borrowed. 3 pairs of pants/knickers, 3 pairs of trousers, 4 pairs of socks, 3 t-shirts if a good amount of spare clothes as accidents can happen .

Dates for you diary and reminders: •

Please take your child’s water bottle home - these are not our responsibility to clean and refill at the end of the day, it is yours. For the older children, please encourage them to find their water bottles at home time. Friday 14th - Valentine’s day - Happy valentines day everyone! Half term dates and closures: We will be closed from Monday 17th February—Friday 21st February for half term. We will open again on Monday 24th February. What is the role of a key-worker?

The first role of a key worker is to promote your child’s development. This doesn’t mean your child’s key worker has to spend every second of the day with your child. We have systems in place such as individual planning and the EyLog where your child’s keyworker will work on the areas they have identified. Your child’s keyworker is not the only adult to be looking after your child whilst they are with us. All the practitioner's in your child’s room will interact with, care for and look after your child while they are with us. This also means that all the practitioners are aware of what your child has been up to during the day. Where feedback is concerned, please do not wait for your child’s keyworker to be free, it could be the case that your child’s keyworker has been out working on providing the evidence for your child’s learning journal and has missed some of their day. All the practitioners in the room have cared for your child today, you can approach any of them.
