Notes from the management team:

Welcome to all of our new families who have joined Harvard Park! You should have received your activation link for our ParentMail service. DO NOT ignore this, you will need to sign yourselves up, if you need support please don’t hesitate to contact the preschool and someone will assist you. While you are downloading the ParentMail app, be sure to download the EyLog app! We would like to wish every a Happy Halloween for the end of this month too!

Term Dates for October: From Monday 26h of October to Friday 30th October we are closed for half term. We reopen on Monday 2nd November at 8:30 am.

Photo’s for Family Albums!

Please send in family photos if you haven't done so already. These photos are used to make your child's family album. This a good way to welcome children and their families into our Harvard Park family. It gives you child a sense of belonging. This can be done via email so get snapping!

Bags.

If your child is toilet trained and does not need nappies or spare clothes please do not bring bags in for them. We are reducing the amount of item being brought inform home.

Reminder about jewellery : Please can we remind parents only small stud earring and only religious jewellery are permitted while at nursery. Thank You Welcome’s

Notes from Pre-School: Cool Cats Topic: Getting to know you, sensory investigation, Halloween and Autumn.

Over the next month we will have lots of new children starting at pre-school. We would like to welcome all of you into the room and hope you have a smooth transition. We will be doing lots of fun activities such as Autumn walks, looking at changes in the environment such as leaves falling, weather changes and talking about dark and light/day and night. We will be exploring Autumn items talking about the sizes, colours and textures. We will be looking and talking about ourselves and our families by drawing self portraits. We will also be exploring Halloween by investigating different sensory items such as jelly with mini-beasts, spaghetti etc. We will be looking at the book Pumkin soup and exploring pumpkins and the texture of the pumpkin inside and out as well as carving faces into our pumpkin's. If you do not want your child talking part in Halloween activities, please inform us at drop off’s and this can be adapted for you.

Reminders: Children in nappies: Please provide enough for your child We have no spares left; we will be calling you if you do not provide them for your child during their session. This includes wipes, we are doing our bit for the environment and no longer have spare wipes on site.

Children who are potty training: Please bring in spare clothes for your children.

3 to 4 pairs of trousers, pants/knickers / socks and a pair of shoes will be enough. IF you have our spares, please bring them back as we are running very low on everything!

Payment reminder: Please can we remind all parents payments need to be paid a term in advance.

Please label all of you belongings: We cannot be held responsible if your child’s clothing goes missing and it does not have you name in. This includes any bottles/ or comforters they may bring in with them.

Download the app and sign up to ParentMail—we will be checking within the next two weeks as it is essential for you to do this. It is free of charge and takes you 2 minutes to sign yourself up.

While in you app store, download the EyLog app too—this helps makes it easier for to upload pictures and video’s to help us with your child’s development at pre-school and at home.

Primary school applications for Reception are now open and must be done online. If your child is born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017 your child will start school in September 2021.
