Focus: Communication and Language
Topic: Getting to Know you and Sensory Investigation.
We will plan lots of activities to enhance the children’s communication skills through words and gestures. We will be implementing Makaton and baby sign while talking with the children to help them learn and understand gestures in different contexts. Knock knock boxes and song times will also help the children to develop new words when we learn new songs! Mission: Have a look at our Makaton board in the room to familiarise yourself with some of Makatons signs.
A lot of our children will be transitioning into Freedom Zone so we will be having lots of free play and open doors to help this transition. Sensory Investigations – it where we encourage our children to get messy, explore new textures and realise that it is ok to explore and get dirty. Please provide plenty of weather appropriate spare clothes as they will be getting messy. Please make sure all clothes are old!
