Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: September Newsletter 2015 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie – We would like to start by saying Welcome back! We hope all of those who are returning to us this year, have had a lovely break and are ready for new learning. To all of our new parents, welcome to our Harvard Park family! This is our monthly newsletter which you can read 3 ways. We will have a few paper copies avalible in the setting, they will be on our Facebook page and we will also email them to you. The newsletters do contain important information so please read them as often as you can. We would also like to welcome Eva to our team, as she is joining us as an inclusion worker. We are looking to make up a Summer Holidays display board and would like you input. When possible, please could you send us some pictures of what you got up to in the holidays? If you went on a plane or simply to the farm we would love to share it with our children here at nursery. We have already begun talking about where we went in our group times and would loved to extend this into our displays. Just a reminder about buggies and pushchairs. Where possible, 2 years olds can travel in an umbrella buggy but please fold it and store it in the correct place. If your child is 3 years or older, we will ask you to take the buggy home with you. At this age, they should not really be travelling in the buggy as it will impact on their psychical development. Our timings for open and closing times are as follows AM session PM session 8:00am – 11:45am 12:30 pm – 4:15pm The door will open at 11:40am The door will open at 4:10pm If you have changed your contact details such as mobile numbers or have moved house, please come to the management desk and change them.
News from Natalie, Dee, Eva, Rosa, Jeanna, Marilyn, Sian, Lacey, Amy and Anusha: As of September, we ask that you provide fruit which is sealed. For example, a bag of apples or a bag of satsumas. Due to a change in Health and Food Safety regulations, fruit needs to be sealed, this also means that you can provide a bag for the week. Please avoid brining in kiwi’s as we have a child who has an allergy to them. Our theme for this month will be all about sensory exploration and getting to know you. All of our activities will have a sensory focus. It may be exploring texture in our messy trays through porridge or bean play; creating junk modelling to explore the outside area such as telescopes and making playdough adding scents such as lavender or cinnamon. Getting to know you is exactly what it says. We like to find out a child’s likes, interests and dislikes so we are able to plan for them to help them develop. Activities will incorporate all areas of the EYFS and be fun and engaging to all. Make sure you bring in your all about me boxes so we can share them in group times and share them with our new friends. Please send in family photos. Some of our family trees are looking a t little bit bare. You can send them via email and we will print them, or bring in the originals and we will scan them and give the originals back to you. It is an important part of their learning so please send us some! If we are not receiving them, we will have to start taking photo’s at pick up or drop off times.
