Harvard Park Pre School Isleworth: September Newsletter 2016 News from the Managers, Nicki and Tracey and Deputy Manager, Natalie – We would like to start by saying Welcome back! We hope all of those who are returning to us this year, have had a lovely break and are ready for new learning. To all of our new parents, welcome to our Harvard Park family! This is our monthly newsletter which you can read 3 ways. We will have a few paper copies avalible in the setting, they will be on our Facebook page and we will also email them to you. The newsletters do contain important information so please read them as often as you can. We would like to ask you to create an ‘All about me box’; this is a small box decorated by your child, filled with little things that remind them of home and things that you don’t mind going missing. This could be photos of their family or holiday pictures (copies if possible), an old teddy, an empty packet of their favourite food etc. This helps settling process and acts as a talking point for child and practitioner to help form a bond. Please read the letter attached for more ideas of what to put in the box and how the boxes help. We would also like you to send in some Family photos for home corner; You can send them via email and we will print them, or bring in the originals and we will scan them and give the originals back to you, with your permission and if your profile is not private, we can take a few off of Facebook or bring them in on a USB and we can copy them onto our computer. It is an important part of their learning so please send us some! It also helps the settling in process as they are still able to see your face and can understand that you are coming back later. If we are not receiving them, we will have to start taking photo’s at pick up or drop off times. Our fees have had a change, if you are a paying parent you will receive an invoice and a letter within this month. Please feel free to come and See Natalie if you have any further questions. We have recently starting using Whatsapp to communicate more regularly with our parents. Our previous parents have found this very helpful as we can send out notes, reminders and texts on mass. We broadcast a message so that your details are not given to anyone else. You should receive a welcome text once your numbers have been added into our phone. Please let us know if you are not happy for this to happen, if you have changed your number then please let us know. Just a reminder about buggies and pushchairs. Where possible, 2 years olds can travel in an umbrella buggy but please take it with you as you leave. We no longer have a place to store these. If your child is 3 years or older, they should not really be travelling in the buggy as it will impact on their psychical development. You can always ride your scooter to us and park it in the scooter park. Our timings for open and closing times are as follows AM session PM session 8:00am – 11:45am 12:30 pm – 4:15pm The door will open at 11:40am The door will open at 4:10pm If you have changed your contact details such as mobile numbers or have moved house, please come to the management desk and change the details we have so we can suitably contact you. Reminder that we are no nut setting. Please do not bring in loose nuts, cereal or cereal bars containing nuts or sweets with nuts in. We take this very seriously.

News from Natalie, Dee, Eva, Jeanna, Marilyn, Mandy, Lacey, Amy and Anusha: As of September, we ask that you provide fruit which is sealed. For example, a bag of apples or a bag of satsumas. Due to a change in Health and Food Safety regulations, fruit needs to be sealed, this also means that you can provide a bag for the week. Please avoid brining in pineapple or strawberries as we have a child and a practitioner who are allergic to them. Our theme for this month will be all about sensory exploration and getting to know you. All of our activities will have a sensory focus. It may be exploring texture in our messy trays through porridge or bean play; creating junk modelling to explore the outside area such as telescopes and making playdough adding scents such as lavender or cinnamon. Getting to know you is exactly what it says. We like to find out a child’s likes, interests and dislikes so we are able to plan for them to help them develop. Activities will incorporate all areas of the EYFS and be fun and engaging to all. Make sure you bring in your all about me boxes so we can share them in group times and share them with our new friends. Mission of the month: - Create your all about me boxes and bring them in. If you are unsure about what these are, please ask your keyworker. Just a few notes to start off the month of September: Please start labelling your child’s clothing especially hats, coats and gloves as we are having trouble with some children wearing the same colour and the same type of coats. If you would like us to do so, simply say. To avoid upset or confusion everything should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.  If you have borrowed clothes from the pre-school please could you return them? We are running very low on girls trousers and if we have nothing to change your child into, we will have to ring you to come and pick them up from the setting. Same with wellington boots, if you have borrowed them please return them ASAP, thank you. Please make sure you have as sufficient amount of clothes so that we are able to change your child especially if they are potty training. Also remember once you collect your child from their groups, they are your responsibility so DO NOT let them push the door handle to let themselves out. ADULTS ONLY!!!!!! We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Reece, Ayman, Esmae, Naglis, Hayden, Eden. We hope you have a lovely day! If we have missed out anyone who has just started with us we are sorry and hope you have a lovely day too.

This is a message from Smallberry Green School: DO NOT Park in front of or outside the school gates. You will get in trouble if they see you on their CCTV. Do not park inside the car park either, Harvard Park will get in trouble for this too. If the gate is open, the CCTV is still in operation and they will register your number plate, approaching you if you park in the car park. THANK YOU. Can parents please join our Facebook site as we are trialling our newsletters on our new site to save our trees! Just type in Harvard Park Pre-school and Day Nursery into your search engine (i.e. Google) and we should pop up! We regularly update this page with pictures, messages and notices. We will of course print off a few copies for those parents who do not have access to a computer. We will also display a copy on our Parents Table.
